The Fujinon XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS is a very harmonious offering. It may not excel in quality but it has only few weaknesses. The Fujinon is pretty sharp across the zoom range and entire image field - even at max. aperture.

I use this lens predominantly for outdoor action shots. It is well made, operates smoothly and takes clear sharp photos. It being all metal construction ( as all XF lenses are) it's a little heavy. But I'll take that trade off for the quality of the lens.

What can I say except I have been without this lens for far too long. I like the stiffness of the zoom so there's no chance of it creeping when hanging downwards. It's very sharp even at maximum zoom. It's a great size for carrying around and is my everyday lens now.

In my nascent tenure as a Fujifilm shooter, I've worked primarily in the medium to wide focal spectrum, from 55mm at the longest to 10mm at the widest. I'm primarily a street photographer, so I'll have to find a balcony for anything longer than 50mm.
