Fujifilm XF 18mm F2 R
The Fujifilm XF 18mm F2 R is one of the oldest lenses in the XF line-up, and optically one of the worst-performing, with significant distortion and chromatic aberrations, plus a lack of center and particularly edge sharpness when shooting wide-open at the faster apertures.

very nice, and compact lens
The lens is great. Very sharp and hardly any distortion. The one thing that could be improved is the cap that comes with the lens hood. The cap is supposed to cover the lens hood whenot using the lens. The hood however will not stay on. It keeps falling off even when the lens is in the camera bag.
Pros:
- Lightweight

Versatile wide angle lens
I bought the lens as part of the Fuji X Pro + 2 lens deal. I achieved some very pleasing landscape and architecture shots with sharp images and stong colour contrast. I did detect slight colour fringing in some images. Wide aperture very good for low light shots
Pros:
- Colour Contrast
- Durable
- Lightweight
- Low Light
- Sharp Focus
- Strong Construction

Fujinon XF18mm f/2 R Lens
The Fujinon XF 18mm f/2 R lens is the only wide-angle lens currently available for the X-Pro 1 and covers an angle of view equivalent to 27mm in 35mm format. As such, it's best suited to landscape and architectural photography but has low enough distortion to make it suitable for group portraits and...
Pros:
- It's offered with the Fujifilm X-Pro 1
- You require a wider angle of view than the 35mm lens
- You want superior performance and robust build quality
- You like shooting with filters.
Cons:
- You need close focusing and macro capabilities
- Don't buy this lens if, You need close focusing and macro capabilities

Fast, compact and sharp
Granted most wide angle lens today are compact, but for the speed and size this one is hard to beat. They could have made this slightly faster but it has a shallow depth of field that is great for my purposes. The images are very rectilinear and nearly sharp corner to corner.

A must-have for your Fujifilm Camera System
Excellent piece of glass for my X-Pro 1, it is sharp and fast... love it.

compact and ready to go
"This is perhaps my favourite XF lens. While my natural field of view is closer to a 35mm, a 28mm-equivalent has better DOF. So its a bit of a takeoff, however, compared to the more recent XF lenses, the 28mm is very compact and light.

Underrated, Under-loved
This lens is the Rodney Dangerfield in Fuji's lens line. Not the fastest, not the widest, people rush on past to the 14mm 2.8, or to the 23mm 1.4. Mistake. If you're a prime lens shooter, there's a place for a 28mm equivalent lens, and f2 is fast enough.
Pros:
- Sharp
- light
- small
- contrasty
- fast enough
- core focal length
Cons:
- Won't get you no respect
- if you're a zoom person
- it doesn't make great sense for you

Well Made Lens
Lightweight, sharp and well built. Don't expect SLR speed on auto focus but over all It's excellent

A great lens for your Fuji
A great lens for your Fuji, I have the 27mm also and the 35mm 1.4, but this lens is so sweet. Use it for street work, landscapes, and even some portrait work but get up close.
