Fujifilm X-T2 Review

Ever since Fujifilm announced their first model in the X-series in 2011, the camera system has been evolving at quite a pace. The number of interchangeable lens cameras in the X-series now stands at eight models, and there's a healthy range of 19 premium XF lenses to choose from – a far cry from the...

An amazing camera without the bulk

I had purchased this camera to replace my Canon 700D, and it is simply such a massive upgrade and much more enjoyable camera to use. Apart from the resolution increase, I've noticed much better dynamic range and colour rendition. Using the camera is very enjoyable too.
Pros:
  • Easy to use
  • Build quality
  • Screen size
Cons:
  • Battery life

Fujifilm X-T2 review: A new benchmark for the mirrorless market

It took us about three minutes to fall in love with the Fujifilm X-T1 . So when we were first shown the Fujifilm X-T2 back in July it only took us about three seconds. In many ways the X-T2 is the most advanced compact system camera offering we've seen, its goal firmly set on being the best...
Pros:
  • Comprehensive continuous autofocus system not seen by other CSCs to date
  • great electric viewfinder
  • optional grip enhances performance considerably
  • tweaked design with larger dials but retaining retro appeal
Cons:
  • Still no touchscreen
  • 3-directional LCD screen switch is fussy
  • toggles around dials are too small
  • need grip for many higher-end features
  • no price just yet
  • could do with some more detailed single autofocus options

Fujifilm X-T2 review: The definition of a great camera

The Fujifilm X-T1 was a high watermark for mirrorless camera design and has remained among my favourite cameras since its launch in 2014. Its video capture wasn't up to much and rival cameras were faster, but sublime ergonomics meant taking photos was an absolute pleasure and inspecting the...
Pros:
  • Best-in-class ergonomics
  • Outstanding image quality
  • Capable 4K video mode
Cons:
  • Burst and video autofocus could be better
  • A little slow in normal use

Fantastic camera

This is a wonderful camera. I used its predecessor the XT-1 for two years before I broke my own rule never to fix something if it isn't broken. The XT-1 was a replacement for Nikons and I was looking for something much lighter to lug around.

Fujifilm X-T2

The Fuji X-T2 is a professional powerhouse of the mirrorless world, with enough external controls to please any retro-fanatic. It offers top-notch weather sealing, and the autofocus engine has also been heavily amped from the original X-T1, bringing its C-AF chops more in line with its modern DSLR...
Pros:
  • Excellent image quality from both JPEGs and RAW files
  • Superb high ISO performance
  • Very fast hybrid AF
  • Robust weather sealing
  • Dual UHS-II card slots
  • 4K video
Cons:
  • Precise manual focus is tricky with fly-by-wire focusing
  • Battery life is only decent
  • Video quality still not on par with competing cameras
