Fujifilm Fujinon GF 63mm F2.8 R WR Review

The Fujifilm Fujinon GF 63mm F2.8 R WR ($1,499) is the first lens you're likely to add to the GFX 50S. It's a compact prime that covers a standard-angle field of view—the equivalent of the 50mm prime that was bundled with 35mm SLRs before zoom lenses became the norm. The GF 63mm continues the tradition, and delivers crisp images when paired with the GFX's high-resolution image sensor. It's a solid first lens for the GFX. Design A medium format image sensor is big, but the GF 63mm ($1,499.00 at Amazon) isn't an overwhelmingly large lens. At 2.8 by 3.3 inches (HD) and just 14.3 ounces, it's smaller and lighter than some primes for full-frame systems. The modest f/2.8 aperture certainly comes into play here—an f/2 or wider lens would require a lot more glass to cover the GFX 50S's image sensor. The front element is slightly recessed, but a lens hood is included. The lens supports 62mm front filters, and also sports a physical aperture control ring. The aperture is adjustable from f/2...

The Fujifilm Fujinon GF 63mm F2.8 R WR is the first lens many GFX owners will buy. It delivers very sharp results and is relatively light and compact.

Compact; Sharp; Standard-angle field of view; Dust- and moisture-resistant build; Aperture control ring

Edge sharpness lags behind center; Some barrel distortion; Not stabilized

FUJIFILM FUJINON GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens - Brand New review

The Fujifilm GF 63mm f2.8 R WR is a fast and tack-sharp standard "nifty-fifty" lens that exhibits almost no chromatic aberrations, has negligible distortion and is capable of producing some lovely bokeh, whilst being light and compact enough to use as a walk-around lens on the GFX 50S camera.

FUJIFILM FUJINON GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

FUJIFILM FUJINON GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens - Brand New review

Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.

Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better

Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue

FUJIFILM FUJINON GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens - Brand New review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

FUJIFILM FUJINON GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens - Brand New review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

FUJIFILM FUJINON GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens - Brand New review

Hannah Stryker / Review Geek The iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device. Since its launch, the iPhone has set the standard of what a smartphone is, what it does, and how it looks. Fifteen years later, it’s still doing that.

Top-notch cameras, Amazing display, Snappy performance, Great battery life

It's just "this year's iPhone"
