It's been over a year since Fujifilm released its first 3D camera, the Real 3D W1, which was revolutionary. For the first time the consumer could take 3D pictures easily using a fairly portable camera.

I had been using twin camera rigs and beam splitters for years to get stereo images. I have used the W3 for three weeks now. This camera greatly simplifies capturing 3D stills AND 3D HD video. I do not have a use yet for the video, but the market is trending that way, so I am ahead of that curve.
Digital 3D still and video made easy
No hot shoe/PC connection; lens cover/on-off switch may be a weak point
This camera is an excellent gift idea for anyone who wants images in 3d or 2d or both. You need to make sure your t.v. or computer is 3d compatible. also I do not think that there is paper to print out your 3D images, you have to submit them to a company that does.
Dual 2d 3d modes; Excellent video; Fast/accurate auto-focus; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization; Large Clear LCD; Nice Body Color; Real 3d; Short Lag Time; Small / Compact
Eyes need to adjust to 3d; Short Battery Life
I bought this camera to replace one I already had that developed a cracked lens. If you havent done 3-D images before you find this to be a bit of a steep learning curve. Both images and video have quirks on some displays/tv's that you need to adjust for.
Fujifilm's W3 has two lenses for shooting true 3D images and a massive 3.5-inch lenticular screen that allows for viewing in 3D without the need for glasses. But just how good is it?
3D fun; massive 3.5-inch 16:9 LCD screen
3D not for everyone; close-focus distance; expensive; current expense of 3DTV; poor video quality
Unique and largely effective solution best utilised in tandem with a 3D TV, although the hugely impressive 3.5-inch screen provides an able alternative, no glasses required
What a fun camera, I have a few of the old film 3D cameras but digital is the way to go, shoots great 3D and 2D you can even shoot 3D and at the same time a 2D copy, shoots 3D video too!
With 3D technology present in more and more homes, it was just a matter of time before the photographic industry ventured into this exciting new arena.
Stunning 3D effect; large LCD screen; flawless navigation; great photographic features; advanced flash controls
Need a 3D screen/TV; LCD screen suffers reflections; Micro mode is tricky to focus; 3D is memory hungry
Fujifilm was very quick off the mark with its first 3D compact camera, the W1, and managed to hit the shelves just as the latest 3D craze flooded the cinemas and the home-entertainment market.
