Fitbit Versa 2 is the second generation of Fitbits popular Versa smartwatch series. It includes several improvements compared to the original Fitbit Versa model. First of all, it features an always-on display. Hence, there's no need to press a button or moving the wrist to turn on the screen. This obviously affects battery life, which has decreased from five days to four days. Secondly, Versa 2 has Amazon's digital assistant Alexa built-in. The user simply asks Alexa to perform certain tasks, and responses can be viewed on the screen. Please note that this smartwatch lacks a speaker, so oral responses aren't possible.

A newer model Fitbit Versa 3 was released in August 2020.

Fitbit Versa 2 Review – A worthy update

Fitbit Versa 2 is without a doubt, the best Fitbit can offer in 2019. Its AMOLED display is sharp, vibrant, and very responsive due to the hardware upgrade. While the design looks similar to the original Fitbit Versa, why change what works, right

  • Sleep tracking and insights
  • Internal music storage
Cons:
  • Spotify doesn't stream directly
  • Alexa needs better integration

  • Gorgeous high quality design
  • Always-on display option
  • Bright and clear new AMOLED display
  • Lightweight and comfortable for 24/7 wear
  • Detailed sleep and heart rate data
Cons:

Fitbit Versa 2 review: A $200 smartwatch and fitness tracker with a battery that won't quit

The Versa 2 is a great hybrid of a fitness tracker and a smartwatch, but lacks built-in GPS which may be a deal-breaker for runners. It's still one of the best wearables you can buy for under $200. Editors' note, Oct. 31, 2019: Thanks to its $200 (£200, AU$325) price, long-lasting battery and compatibility across Android and iOS, we've awarded the Fitbit Versa 2 an Editors' Choice. It's one of the best examples of a hybrid fitness tracker and smartwatch you can buy. Our review, originally published Oct. 13, follows.
Pros:
  • The Fitbit Versa 2 battery lasts for days and days
  • There's a clear, easy-to-understand breakdown of your fitness and sleep metrics in the Fitbit app
  • You get a wide selection of watch faces
  • It's faster and more responsive than the first watch
  • The Versa 2 works on iOS or Android.
Cons:
  • Alexa integration is not as fleshed out as it could be
  • Connected GPS means you have to take your phone with you when doing outdoor workouts.

Fitbit Versa 2

The Apple Watch Series 4 is still a more powerful wearable with a much wider variety of faces and apps, but it also costs twice as much as the Versa 2 and requires an iOS device to work.
Pros:
  • Attractive AMOLED screen with always-on option
  • Long battery life
  • Lots of useful apps and fitness features
  • Fitbit Pay
  • Amazon Alexa
Cons:
  • Screen isn't quite as bright as the original model
  • Alexa responses are text only

Fitbit Versa 2 Bordeaux/Copper Rose FB507RGRW review

Alexa is the star of the show here, but it’s the small improvements in the design and software that really make the Versa 2 feel like a leap ahead. There are bugs that need fixing, particularly with Alexa, and some people will simply want something more stylish.
Pros:
  • Rounder
  • curved design
  • Alexa’s handy (when it works)
  • Fitbit Pay on all models

Fitbit Versa 2 Review

The Fitbit Versa 2 takes everything we like about the original smartwatch and adds an always-on AMOLED display, a microphone for Amazon Alexa, and Fitbit Pay. The Fitbit Versa remains one of the most functional and friendly Android-compatible smartwatches we've seen. It's packed with features, looks and feels attractive, and costs much less than the iOS-only Apple Watch. Fitbit also offers the even less expensive (though still quite appealing) Versa Lite, and now the original is getting its first major update in the form of the Versa 2. It includes everything we love about the original, and adds an AMOLED screen with an always-on option, a microphone with Amazon Alexa, and makes Fitbit Pay a standard feature (and not just limited to the Special Edition model), all while keeping its $199.95 price. The Versa 2 is easily our new favorite Android-compatible smartwatch, as well as our Editors' Choice. Design and Style The Versa 2 is slightly more rounded than the Versa, with an AMOLED face that curves smoothly into the aluminum case instead of the original's flat face and angular edges. The underside is similarly curved, giving the watch a ...
Pros:
  • Attractive AMOLED screen with always-on option
  • Long battery life
  • Lots of useful apps and fitness features
  • Fitbit Pay
  • Amazon Alexa
Cons:
  • Screen isn't quite as bright as the original model
  • Alexa responses are text only
