Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Throw-away fun or an intellectual comment on society? Fantasy or nightmare? Either way, by the end of the game I couldn't wait to get off that God-forsaken island.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

It's difficult to be too critical of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon when the homage is so pitch perfect. When the writing is this sharp, the action so outrageous and the references so rich with rose-tinted reminiscence, it's tough to accuse the game of emphatically doing anything wrong.

The definition of insanity is not purchasing this game!

The story is a bit bland but some of the characters are fantastic, including the main antagonist, Vaas. The game looks great and it's classic far cry, massive landscapes and over the top action, it'll entertain you for days.

Far Cry 3

There's too much to tell you about Far Cry 3 to linger long on the game's roots. Ubisoft's first-person shooter is a fusion of the defining elements of both Far Cry and Far Cry 2.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review (XBLA, PSN, PC)

Make no mistake, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is ridiculous. That's obviously a completely intentional decision and it's a beautiful thing. It's wonderful whenever a large publisher puts out a game that is perfectly happy to just be ridiculous and fun.

Concept and presentation are brilliantly executed; Dialogue is often laugh-out-loud funny; Blood Dragons offer an opportunity for a decent new stealth mechanic

Occasional glitches; Pacing is a little erratic; More could have been done around the new Blood Dragon mechanics

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon PS3 Review

Age Rating: 18+ Other console/handheld formats: Xbox 360 Even though it plays very much like a Far Cry game, it's odd that Ubisoft decided to go with the Far Cry 3 title for this spin-off game, as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon really couldn't be any further away from the themes found in the third game in...

Far Cry 3 is like controlled chaos in video game form. The game goes out of its way to make sure you're always presented with something fun to do. The story is weak and it all begins to fall apart during the last third of the game, but it's not hard to overlook those problems and see just how much...

Fantastic open-world to explore; the many mechanics at work are all superb; you'll never run out of fun things to do

Awful story; missions lose focus near the end of the game; plenty of technical issues on the console versions

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon

"It's a collection of the best 80s action movie cliches, wrapped around Far Cry 3's deliciously violent gameplay" "Cut-scenes, done using Contra-style 2D character models, are incredibly well observed" "You need to kill or remove Blood Dragons to claim outposts" "The jokes never get stale, and the...

Fantastic retro style and music; It's a decent chunk of game; Genuinely funny dialogue

Needs more genuinely new features

Acceptable in the Eighties

A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.
