It's kill or be killed in Far Cry 3 ‘s world. Viscous animals and psychopathic villains alike pose a threat to the player. In order to fight back, one must hone their survival skills, acclimate to the tropical island, and maybe bring a flamethrower along – that never hurts.

Huge tropical island to explore; Wide variety of weapons and tools empower the player; Plenty of fun activities outside of story missions

Mediocre story with unlikeable characters; Forgettable multiplayer modes

There is so much to do in Far Cry 3 that doesn't feel like filler, and that's saying a lot for an open-world game. It's worth noting that some of the side missions feel extremely disconnected from the overall campaign, but I like to view that as something to do after the story is over.
