FIFA 20 Review

FIFA 20 remains a gorgeous and fun-to-play football game that’s as addictive as ever. The addition of Volta adds some much-needed variety and the quick matches filled with skills and elaborate game celebrations are fun. I’m not sold on all the gameplay tweaks, however, and the additions to Career mode feel slightly dull. Still, if you’ve picked up FIFA every year then you’re most likely going to like what’s on offer here, even if the package feels very familiar.

Addition of new Volta mode; Strength and speed attributes feel more influential; Player animations look fantastic;

Unconvincing ball physics; Career mode cut scenes are annoying;

Let your feet do the talking-Fifa 20 review

FIFA video games have dominated the markets for the past several years. The sheer sense of competition is enough to get anybody's blood pumping, especially mine. The yelling matches and rivalries that FIFA 2020 creates between the best of friends is something everyone needs to experience.

Competitive couch co-op play; Strong career mode; Engaging multiplayer matches

Volta has a strong story; but gameplay falls short; Multiplayer functions that could be abused; No major strides taken from previous FIFA installments

Disappointed

Had it for 24 hours, no improvement - as bad as fifa 18 & 19. Didn't think that was possible. I will persevere, but don't hold out much hope. It's about time EA Sports bought out a fifa game that is worthy of the price.

Fifa 20

FIFA is back for another year with all the bells and whistles you'd come to expect from an EA Sports release. Over the last couple of years FIFA seems to have fallen back into familiar patterns.

Games Broken

Every year I ask myself why I continue to purchase the Fifa games. This year has somehow managed to be as bad as fifa 19. If you want to play Career Mode you're out of luck as that's completely broken, EA only seem to care that they continue to shift their expensive ultimate team points than...

FIFA 20 game review – defending is back and so is the fun

The new

Defending is hard; Volta is fun; the gameplay is much more balanced; and pace matters again

Ultimate Team is still too pay-to-win; goalkeeping and player switching needs work; and career mode has been neglected again

Fifa 20

This year FIFA has added new career mode features such as player conversations and post match interviews . FIFA ultimate team has a new mode called friendly's which has different modes with different games . Also different backgrounds in ultimate team and career mode make the game different.

PlayStation 4 Fifa 20 PS4 FIFA 20 review

Ahhh, FIFA. Like the setting of the sun, the drawing in of the nights, the putting on of an old winter coat, there's both an inevitability and a level of comfort that comes with the release of a new FIFA game. The football season is properly back. The squads are correct again.

FIFA continues to look stunning; with (almost) every license intact; Ultimate Team is more complete and compelling than ever; Volta is a welcome; unique way to play; Career mode finally gets some improvements...

… but still feels barebones; Volta feels a little basic compared to FIFA Street

FIFA 20 review

By listening to player feedback and implementing some inspired changes, EA has made FIFA 20 feel like a worthwhile content package for patch note-scouring series veterans and an enticing entry point for first-timers and rule breakers who like a little fun to go with their soccer.

Volta soccer is a neon revelation; Admirable pace; Defending tweaks; Zany modifiers; Electric soundtrack

Career Mode still needs a revamp; Visual upgrades are negligible

Street football gives FIFA nostalgia hit in otherwise static release

With the online Ultimate Team mode continuing to be a major draw for players and an incredible money-maker for publisher EA, annual FIFA releases these days can feel like a few new side-dishes and tweaked seasoning around the familiar meal of loot-boxes and fantasy football.
