The scanner is great. It's fast and easy to load. But the Document capture pro software is not very intuitive or all that easy to use or to help you to organize your paperwork. It is very nice to just scan stuff into a folder and get rid of the paper.
This product worked really well for about 1.5 years / 3500 scans. After that, multi-page scanning failed. The issue is that there's a small plastic piece that connects the multi-page scan switch to the multi-scan rollers (to prevent multiple pages from scanning at once).
A tiny powerhouse of document workflow technology, the DS-560 delivers wholesale scanning for those businesses ready to embrace it.
Compact; Fast scanning; Scans folded sheets
Flimsy output tray; Can't handle books

Automatic document feeder; Duplex (two-sided) scanning; Wi-Fi; Scans to mobile devices, both directly and through an access point
Doesn't do a good job recognizing text on business cards

What makes it stand out, however, is Wi-Fi, which lets you both use the DS-560 ($639.95 at Amazon) as a network scanner and use it to scan files to mobile devices. The DS-560 isn't the only document scanner in its price range with Wi-Fi, but it is one of the first. Our top pick for personal or micro-office desktop document scanner, for example—the Canon imageFormula DR-C225 ($550.00 at Amazon) —can't connect wirelessly. One of the few that can is another favorite, Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 ($849.99 at Amazon) . If you need a network scanner, however, the DS-560 does the job a lot better than the Fujitsu model. The Fujitsu iX500 can be set to sca...
