Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Printer Review

Epson has been known for providing consumers quality economic choices when it comes to multi-purpose printers, but did you know that they also make some of the ...

Excellent print quality on all sorts of media big and small; Budget wide format printer is perfect for the budding photographer; Prints quickly and is a solid built machine; Reasonably priced for what it does

Sensitive to incorrect paper placement which leads to paper jams; You must pick the correct paper setting on your computer before printing or it will lead to the printer just hanging

Epson Stylus Photo R2000

If you take your photography seriously, either as a semi-professional or an enthusiastic amateur, you may well want to print your photos larger than an A4 printer can manage.

High-quality photo prints; Three different paper feeds; Wireless connection

No memory card slots or LCD; Poor plain paper print speed; Wireless setup requires USB connection

Epson Stylus Photo R2000 review

The Stylus Photo R2000 is one of the cheapest printers in Epson's A3 range, although at £434, it still represents a substantial investment. It uses Epson's UltraChrome Hi-Gloss 2 inks and takes eight individual ink cartridges.

The Stylus Photo R2000 A3+ printer sits just below the R3000 and R2880 in Epson's A3+ high quality photo printer range. It's the successor to the older R1900, which bagged a Digital Photo Gold Award in Spring 2008.

"utter piece of junk"

This printer is my second EPSON, and the last. I bought it a few months ago, it printed OK after an initial phase where it seemed to always want to perform cleaning cycles without my permission. Then I moved - the printer refused to start in the new apartment. I thought ok, one victim of the move.

Good prints when it works

Clogs frequently; randomly refuses to start due to a QC failure (wifi bug

Epson R2000 review: An A3+ photo printer with Wi-Fi, and it can print panoramas

The Epson Stylus Photo R2000 is an A3+ photo printer with integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi and roll media printing. It's a great choice if you're interested in printing panoramas, but it's also adept at A3 and A4 photo printing as well.

Excellent print quality; Up to A3+ sizes and roll paper support

No roll cutter; Inks are expensive (although not for a photo printer

Great results from this A3 printer

I purchased the R2000 to replace my defunct R800 and because I needed a printer that would reproduce A3 sized prints of my wife's artwork on various types of paper. The printer was very simple to set up and no problems were encountered linking it by wi-fi to my desktop Mac and Windows laptop.
