It was exactly what I expected. What the description stated.
The scanner that this one replaced was an old HP scanner. Not the greatest, 8 yrs. old, but it worked for what I was using it for at the time. I was looking for a better scanner this time around. More clarity, more dpi. I do like the negative scan.
