Enthralling

I've just spent several hours playing the demo version of this game and despite adverse reviews on other well known sites I think it's brilliant! The most realistic sea battles under sail I've encountered (including Empire TW) and as a member of the Nelson Society I should know!!

"Very pretty, but ..."

I've spent a few days with the open beta test of this game. As the title suggests, this is a trading game. You get to sail ships from Europe to Africa, Arabia and India to bring back colonial goods.

No Activation Code

Please be very careful !!!! I have no activation code the manual is on the disk but when you read the manual the code box is blank no code to put in. They have my money. I have a disk that i cannot use . Guess who the winner here is.

My experience with this game was being somewhat positive, until the problems started to show up. To begin with, the tutorials should be more complete, there're many details that aren't mentioned and you have to learn through trial and error.

Far too simple to be of any lasting interest

It's a nice idea for a game, and I like the large scope of it, but not one aspect is complex enough to hold my interest. Once you have set up a couple of trade routes to bring in a steady cashflow (which is totally out of proportion to the expenditures in the game - you can quickly run up more money...

East India Company

Paradox Interactive has long been synonymous with decent, in-depth yet niche games. For nearly 10 years the Swedish publisher has been delivering titles suited to those with ore ‘hardcore' tastes, especially in the strategy genre.

East India Company Review (PC)

Hit the high seas! Hit the high seas with a blend of strategy, economics and straight out warfare as the head of a major trading company in the 17th century! East India Company is one of those games that seems to be aimed at a niche market.

Nice blend of strategy and trading; micromanagement is possible; but not essential; combat can be fun for a while; controls are nice and straightforward; with a good menu system

Graphics veer wildly from great to poor; combat isn't very involving; very niche title

East India Company

Land Ho Captain! Oh the trees are changing color, that fall smell is in the […]

+ Deep; satisfying naval combat; + I got to be a captain; + Trade system is easy to jump into

Loading is an issue; Title is far too focused; Little issues pull you out of the fun

East India Company: Pirate Bay

East India Company: Pirate Bay is an expansion pack that allows you to play as a pirate. Your goal is to make as much money as possible in thirty years. They say it's a twenty year campaign but if my math is correct, 1650-1680 is thirty years.
