just like all the other dynasty warriors series but in the next gen. most of the characters, don't play as good as in the previous games e.g xiahou dun. alot of the warriors have had their weapons replaced (gan ning, xiahous yun, dian wei, etc.

The fighting is nothing new in this game, but certainly nothing has been taken away. The arsenal of moves is much bigger than before, with ability to do many moves on horseback, cool attacks from each characters, wildly varying chains, and even jumping attacks. Really makes the game more fun.
