I played Driver games for years. This one is by far the worst. I just wish someone would have told me before I bought it

Driver is one of the first games I remember fixating upon as I played my older brother's PlayStation system. Aside from a balls-punchingly difficult tutorial with a time limit, the whole game was a total blast. It featured the perfect balance of realism and arcade-style driving mechanics.
I bought this for my elder brother as he liked the concept. He loved it at first but after the first 3 days he hasn't touched it since. I think he might sell it...
Driver San Francisco (x-box 360) This might be a bit of an oldie by now but I've only just gotten around to trying this one out after picking it up in the sales, so indulge me! Driver San Francisco is a late 2011 release from the Ubisoft/Reflections studio.
Easy to play; unique 'shift' gameplay; top notch graphics
A little short; but that's not a problem to those with x-box live
The latest Ubisoft Reflections game, Driver: San Francisco, continues from the events of the third instalment, yet apparently tries to "forget" about the shocking conclusion to the very mediocre third instalment Driv3r.
Decent arcade racer; A sandbox San Francisco open for exploration; Varied multiplayer modes; Good voice acting
Missions and side challenges can become repetitive; Story ends way too soon
Most near-death experiences are all white light and dead relatives, but not for Detective Tanner. When his vintage Challenger gets T-boned, he spends his restless coma flitting between the drivers of San Francisco like the vengeful spirit of Steve McQueen.
+ On-demand out-of-body experiences let you drive all kinds of vehicles, + Excellent multiplayer action; natural handling; lots of licensed cars; tons of optional side missions
- Bland version of SF; unspectacular graphics; cheesy catch-up A.I.; all attempts at humor fall flat, ?
Driver: San Francisco is quite literally out of this world. Set inside the dreams and thoughts of coma patient and long serving cop John Tanner. The game starts out with longtime nemesis Charles Jericho breaking out of the can.
Longtime fans of the Driver series should breathe a sigh of relief, as Ubisoft Reflections has managed to produce a largely successful reboot. While the narrative is completely laughable, it does pave the way for the shifting mechanic, which is well-handled.
We've Got Reports Of A Sequel In Progress John Tanner has had a tough life. After spending several years in the wilderness, watching his once-loved franchise dragged through the mud by terrible sequels, and Reflections concentrating on other things after being sold to Ubisoft, you'd be forgiven for...
A strong return to form for the Driver series; A strong and enjoyable driving game with lots of replayability and things to do, if you have the patience; Great multiplayer
Handling can feel a bit heavy and irritating, graphical slow-down in places; The story-line can be too confusing at times, with Shift abilities introduced but not explored and a handful of plot twists that are obviously going to occur
The Driver series has certainly seen its ups and downs over the years. The premise has always been a good one, and outside of the harsh difficulty of the games, most of them are considered classics.
+ Shifting is awesome; + Plenty to see and do; + Great presentation
Difficulty brick walls; Feels over too soon
