Driver: San Francisco Review

The Driver series has certainly seen its ups and downs over the years. The premise has always been a good one, and outside of the harsh difficulty of the games, most of them are considered classics.

+ Shifting is awesome; + Plenty to see and do; + Great presentation

Difficulty brick walls; Feels over too soon

Driver: San Francisco

Most near-death experiences are all white light and dead relatives, but not for Detective Tanner. When his vintage Challenger gets T-boned, he spends his restless coma flitting between the drivers of San Francisco like the vengeful spirit of Steve McQueen.

+ On-demand out-of-body experiences let you drive all kinds of vehicles, + Excellent multiplayer action; natural handling; lots of licensed cars; tons of optional side missions

- Bland version of SF; unspectacular graphics; cheesy catch-up A.I.; all attempts at humor fall flat, ?

Test Driver San Francisco

Driver San Francisco – Review (360, PS3)

It's hard to believe that thirteen years have passed since Ubisoft published the original Driver game and with it a fresh approach to an action driving game, incorporating 3D open world gameplay with a tantalising storyline that was addictive, fun and tough all rolled into one.

Driver: San Francisco

Each of the main missions has a story attached to it. Sometimes they relate back to the main narrative, while others involve ordinary citizens who've gotten themselves into a spot of trouble, such as parents whose child has been kidnapped or irresponsible teens who have entered street races.

Shift keeps the action fast paced and exciting; Huge open-world city to explore; Masses of content to play through; Fun online modes

Ridiculous storyline; Frame rate issues with split-screen; Missions get repetitive toward the end

Driver: San Francisco

In Driver: San Francisco, the series returns to its roots and gives fans a driving experience that is dynamic, kinetic, and above all else, fun. While some of the previous Driver installments veered away from the driving aspect, in this game you're always behind the wheel.

Driver: San Francisco skids by on personality

Holy cats, this turned out so much better than I expected! Driver: San Francisco is a perfect example of how far personality can get you in a videogame. This open-world driving game is nowhere near as technically proficient as, say, Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Driver: San Francisco Review

Tanner's comeback isn't perfect, but this is the best Driver game in a decade. If you can ignore the mediocre soundtrack and frequent loading, then you've got a game which looks good, runs better, and has some genuinely interesting mechanics that remove a lot of the frustrations of this kind of...

Driver: San Francisco

After the abysmal and controversial Driver 3 , Ubisoft Reflections' high-speed Driver series took a drastic fall from the gaming limelight. Its stylish world of brutish muscle cars, Bullitt inspired car chases and emphasis on unadulterated 70s style driving went from being a jewel of the PlayStation...

Driver: San Francisco Xbox 360 Review

The Driver series has had its ups and downs but never has it been as crazy as the latest game in the series, Driver: San Francisco . This is a Driver game that is once again all about the driving, removing the on-foot sections and going completely back to its roots, but who'd have thought that the...
