Lets face it, if you are looking at this heater, you are probably not looking for the most cost effective or value for money heater, you are tired of the standard fare of radiator or convection heaters and want something that looks the part. It is NOT the most effective heater, however I live in QLD so that really doesn't matter too much as we only need a heater for about 6 weeks a year, but it certainly fills out a corner of the room with a very nice fire effect and does warm (albeit slowly) a medium sized room, and I didn't buy it for the heating effect as much as the cosmetic effect, which it scores very highly on. It is also almost entirely cool to the touch with the exception of the small grill at the bottom below the fire effect, and even that wont burn unless held for several seconds which is also a very positive aspect of this heater. The controls are neatly hidden behind an easy to open flap and are very simple to use, the only complaint is perhaps the power cord could be long

If you want to have an instant fire to watch, then this is a great product, but it doesn't put out a lot of heat, so better for a small area.

We bought this heater about 3 years ago, and it has been fantastic. It heats our large lounge area really well, and the flame effect adds some lovely, cosy ambience. Highly recommend.

Very easy to use. Safe. Has a thermostat so you can leave it on all day. Warm fan heat. Impression of a flame which is more like an aurora, a wavy effect, but still it gives a cozy feel and at a distance it is appealing too. I thought the flame would be similar to the more expensive dimplex models but without the smoke effect, which I love but the flame is not as good as optimyst which is very realistic and the fan heat seems a lot warmer also.
