If you love Zombies then this is the game for you! The first wasn't as good as this one, so if you didn't like this first then don't backoff this one. The combat and engine have much improved than the last dead island so its a much better game.
Dead Island: Riptide takes place directly after the events of the original game and the group of survivors are taking on board a navy vessel. But just when they thought they were safe, the soldiers on board the navy vessel are ordered by a ‘ Frank Serpo ' to take the survivals to some kind of...
Riptide can be a lot of fun when playing with friends; Loads to do and tons of replay value; Huge Island to explore
Apart from a couple of new features; not much has changed since the last game; The zombie infinite re-spawning from some huts can get seriously irritating; Typical fetch quests can eventually get very tedious
Welcome back to Dead Island – it's like you've never left. At the very least, developer Techland certainly doesn't seem to have gone anywhere or learned anything in the two years since the first turn for this particular take on the oft-prophesised zombie apocalypse.
The original Dead Island was a fairly well received twist on a typical setting for a zombie apocalypse game that exchanged wrecked cities and barren wastelands for a beautiful island resort in the sun.
The four-piece band of the original return to form with Sam B on blunt weapons, Xian Mei on blades, Logan Carter throwing weapons and Purna rocking firearms. They're joined by newcomer John Morgan, whose speciality is hand-to-hand combat.

Dead Island: Riptide is not worth your time. Despite a promising prologue, everything turns to crap quickly. Missions are almost universally tedious and repetitive, characters are horribly unconvincing, and co-op multiplayer is apparently missing altogether.
+ Smooth visuals; + Solid gameplay engine
- Characters are shockingly unconvincing; - Missions are tedious and repetitive; - Frustrating Plot; - Co-op is broken out of the box
I went pretty easy on Dead Island when I reviewed it two years ago. It was incredibly buggy, the visuals wildly veered from decent to awful and it made some bizarre design choices, but it was a chaotic, brutal bout of four-player flesh carving insanity in a world full of military shooters.
