Dark Souls 2: Crown of the Ivory King Review

Firstly, I know you've probably bought this and played it, or at least played most of it. I said in the Crown of the Sunken King review, the score here means little in terms of your buying decision. S

Eleum Loyce is beautiful; New incentives to explore; A fine end to the series

Difficulty is even more extreme; Some enemies seem almost unfair; No more Dark Souls 2

Dark Souls II review – prepare to?obsess

A carefully considered sequel that avoids upsetting existing fans and offers an olive branch to newcomers – all the while retaining its position as one of the most challenging, and rewarding, video games of modern times.

Tweaked combat is harsh but fair, role-playing elements are more varied and transparent, and exploration is more open-ended and non-linear; Online is expanded just enough to please everyone

The game world lacks the cohesion of the original, in favour of more variety; Visuals often struggle to impress; Slightly brighter tone and non-respawning enemies may upset some

Prepare to Die... Again

With Dark Souls II return the best darker series, with all is charming atmosphere and is madness gameplay. Pick it up, it is the last AAA title for this (now) old consoles generation.

Dark Souls II

Offering at least 35 hours of play, Dark Souls II is a challenging experience and a satisfyingly in depth game that rewards perseverance and intelligent tactics.

Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory King DLC (for PlayStation 3)

Crown of the Ivory King ($9.99) is the final entry in the Dark Souls II DLC trilogy, and takes players to the frozen citadel of Eleum Loyce. A seething chaos writhes beneath the icy ruins, and the powerful Ivory Crown relic is lost somewhere therein.

Well-designed cityscape and boss fights; Features plenty of interesting enemies, weapons, and equipment; Strong narrative

The optional challenge path is perhaps the worst of the three DLC add-ons; The snowy aesthetic can get a bit repetitive

Another amazing game from these guys.

True to it's heritage, Dark Souls II is another amazing game in the Soul series. It's intense, addictive, challenging, and thought provoking. I absolutely love these games and would recommend them to anyone with a strong constitution. These games are definitely NOT for the faint of heart. :)

Dark RPG brutality blesses us once more

What is better - Dark Souls II or its predecessor ? To me, the first game remains unsurpassed; but the faithfulness of the sequel is admirable as well. Rest assured: everything you loved to hate and hated to love in that magnificent and brutal journey has been methodically - dare I say...

Feels very much like dark souls 1. Best thing in this dlc is Sir Alonne. You can't miss this epic boss fight with probably one of the best soundtracks for a boss battle.
