Tough, but very rewarding. Not for those who can't stand a bit of a grind. Also the shipping (I ordered online) was INCREDIBLY fast.

Dark Souls, Demon's Souls… these are games I fell in love with the moment I played them. So much character they had! Beautifully depressing, their every environment conveying a kind of poetic sadness, set in worlds of decaying kingdoms, fallen heroes and dreams gone dark.
Tons of bosses to fight; challenging and fun; A beautifully grim; somber world; New Game+ and invasions offer serious replay value; Tons of builds to use; tactics to follow
The easily frustrated need not apply; Controls feel a bit ‘loose' at times
I was fairly late to the party with Dark Souls , having only purchased the game in January of this year. I knew going in, difficulty was what the game was reknown for, but at its heart there was a vast world to explore and lore that players needed to uncover for themselves.
+ Crafted with the need for multiple playthroughs; + New Game + doesn't just increase enemy health it adds new enemies and combat animations; + Drangleic is vast open world with much to explore
- Bugs negating enemies to statues not registering your presence; - No connection to the servers meant no ability to try out Multiplayer before release
It's time to head back to Souls.
+ New foes challenge with lots of death; + Combat and levels are built around deliberate exploits; + Rich lore
- New pyromancies are largely useless in the tower environment
The ‘Souls' franchise has gone from strength to strength since the original title, Demon's Souls, was released in Japan back in early 2009. Initially there were no plans to release the game outside of Japan, but thanks positive sales and review scores, it was eventually released all over the world.
You will die in this game, lots… But that's part of what makes the DS series so much fun… Just when you think you have the mechanics worked out, the game throws something new challenge at you. It's a game for real gamers. If you want light entertainment, buy something else.
"As I was passing through the dark and creepy forests in Things Betwixt, the prologue map in Dark Souls, I was expecting a lot more action, remembering how I escaped the dungeon a year ago, [...
I've loved From Softwares Souls games for a good length of time now and I was really anticipating Dark Souls 2. These games are hard, there is no question about it, but what I love about them is the combination of style; RPG with a bit of hack'n'slash thrown in for good measure and with Dark Souls 2...
good game; good story; true to the souls series
hard; you will die; you will get frustrated; but it's all in the fun
Like I said in my review for Dark Souls II DLC #2 - Crown of the Old Iron King , these reviews are crazy late. Why? Back when these reviews would have been relevant and current, Dark Souls II had finally beaten me.
Good game - preferred the original which is my issue but this still gave me a few hours of good gameplay
