DJI Spark is the smallest drone in this Chinese company's catalog. With a little over a decade of experience, it has launched a drone that absolutely anyone can use. The Spark may just be the easiest drone to fly, and the most versatile the market has to offer.
Lightweight; Easy to control; Very stable; Gesture control; Follow mode; Phone-less selfies; Avoid obstacles; Solid build
Limited smartphone control; Expensive remote; Expensive drone; Video up to 1080p 30fps; Battery life; Noisy
Time for the big question. If you are in the market for a compact drone, is the DJI Spark one you should consider buying If the app worked as it should, my answer would be a resounding yes. However, with all its issues, my answer is a more hesitant maybe, and even that maybe comes with asterisks.
Portable size If you've spent any time with the Mavic; or Phantom; you'll be shocked by just how minuscule the Spark is; Impact sensors Front and underside impact sensors work pretty well at keeping the Spark from crashing into the ground or large; stationary objects; Durability and build quality...
Android Application The app's functionality and polish is excellent, its stability (on Android at least) is not; Frequent app crashes while tethered to a $500 drone is not acceptable, Battery life The manual says a battery will last 15 minutes, but it's more like 10-12.
By learning to compromise, DJI has delivered its most accessible drone yet
Small and lightweight; Great gesture control; Lots of powerful autonomous features
Limited battery life and range; Spotty connectivity over Wi-Fi
DJI is the last word in consumer drone technology, with the Chinese power-house being almost single-handedly responsible for the latest craze in creative photography and videography...
This is an extremely easy drone to fly. It has a range of features for you to learn that enable you to get the most out of what this drone can do.
The DJI Spark offers you what most drones can't do, and that is convenience – all in the palm of your hands. You can set up and fly, all within a few minutes.
Lightweight; Convenient
Could have a better camera
Great drone for the price. Got it on sale and even better. I used it with phone only but I highly recommend the controller. Get to know the drone and see all the do's and don'ts on YouTube. Buy propeller protection. I scraped on the wall from flying indoors.
Small portable easy to fly with tons of features.
Design; Easy to Use; Features; Performance
battery life; Expensive
The fervour surrounding hobbyist drones has died down a tad of late, particularly as local rules and regulations have restricted when and where owners are able to fly their newly purchased gadget.
Compact and lightweight design; Well priced; Great photo taking
Short flight time; Can get shaky during windy conditions
