D-Link PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Network Extender Kit

The D-Link PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Network Extender Kit (model DHP-701AV) is a bit of a disappointment. Supporting the latest PowerLine AV2 2000 standard, the kit promises to deliver up to 2,000Mbps, but in our testing, its real-world speed maxes out at just about 400Mbps.

The D-Link DHP-701AV kit delivers top power-line performance and can be set up and ready to go in less than a minute; The adapter has an indicator light that helps determine the fastest wall socket to plug into

This kit is a lot more expensive than other power-line kits that have similar performance, and the included adapters are bulky without featuring a pass-through socket; The kit doesn't perform anywhere near the advertised 2,000 Mbps speed

D-Link DHP-701AV 2000Mbps AV2 2000 Powerline Adapter Kit

The DHP-701AV is a powerline adapter kit which uses the electrical lines in your home to transmit data, meaning you don't have to run traditional Ethernet cables or worry about the limited range of a wireless connection. The DHP-701AV is rated for 2000Mbps, which is extremely fast for such a device.

» Simple plug and play operation; » Provides high speed data transfers; » Ready to stream HD and 4K content; » Low power mode lets the devices draw up to 85% less electricity; » Expandable - up to 16 adapters can be added to your "powerline network

» Was expecting it to be even faster; » Included CAT5 cables (not CAT5e or even CAT6; » No power outlet pass-through provided

Bought this to replace my TrendNet AV500 kit which was rather unstable and kept disconnecting randomly. With my old router (Asus RT-N53), it was rather unstable (especially when booting my computer, it would take about 5 minutes before the connection was well established and it stopped crashing),...

Really fast for powerline; Stable when you have a good router; Allows you to use the other outlet on a 2-outlet plug; Works with older AV500 powerline adapters; Works with other manufacturers' powerline adapters; Did I mention fast

Unstable if your router is meh (at least it was with mine until I changed it; Nowhere near gigabit speeds unless you're on the same outlet; but that's to be expected

Works great!

Easy to install and getting good speed. My service is 200 Mbps, so getting 100 Mbps, happy with the units. I didn't expect to get anywhere near 2000 Mbps as I don't plan to have a home gigabit network system. Ok, now I need to get a 5 port switch and connect multiple devices to it.

True plug and play LAN

I service many houses of 3K square feet. WIFI coverage can be very difficult. I just set up my upstairs and downstairs routers for WIFI plugged these in attached the downstairs router - problem solved. Very good solution and at gigabit speed. My customer Happy and that makes me very happy.

I would recommend this product to others.

Worked as advertised with excellent throughput. Followed the easy to follow instructions and was able to connect my computer in an upstairs bedroom that did not have a strong wireless signal in a matter of minutes.

Love it!

Originally I purchased a returned item that after working with Dlink support we both agreed was defective; it was opened and a discounted by ME - who failed at verifying the product functionality (sorry ME). When I received a new unboxed unit set, everything worked great.

Beware of returned items

It works but disappointed with the speed

It works but disappointed with the speed. All LEDs show green but when I run tests my download speeds average below 10Mbps, which far slower than my average speed across wifi. I was expecting more from a device that lists higher theoretical speeds.

Very happy with the performance. 4 out of 5. Bad design however...too wide, takes up both power points on a side/side dbl pp. 1 out of 5.
