My 15 years old linksys router was performing better compare to this product when it came to keeping up the wifi connection live. The signal quality through a 2 in-house walls and one bricked wall is also poorer with this product than the old linksys. Also, there is no MAC addresses white listing.
Worth the buy if you have a lot of devices, BUT you DO still need faster internet speed to to match this!!!
Incredible router. Everybody says its not good or hard to set up but i can assure you it is very easy and Excelent. The lan speed is very high, 270-280 Mb out of 300 from Virgin, but this also depends on your pc configuration and all that, BUT the wireless is mindblowing.
D-Link's DIR-890L/R is an amazing looking solution and while it didn't carry top tier performance in our testing, it is a reliable solution with excellent firmware to back it up.
W hy is it that the more expensive a router is, the more outlandish its outer shell design must be? Just take a look at this premium product from D-Link, which outdoes Netgear's bat-modem to take the cake as one of the oddest looking routers available.
I never thought that I'd see a Wi-Fi router that was both bigger and more ostentatious than the Netgear Nighthawk X6 , but that day has come. The D-Link AC3200 (DIR-890L) is a giant glossy red triangular prism with six huge antennas sticking out of it, and promises tri-band Wi-Fi performance of up...
Great 802.11ac transfer speeds; Fast storage interface; Great design
No removable antenna; Simplistic Web interface; Massively expensive
With the AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi Router DIR-890L/R ($309.99) D-Link raises the bar in more ways than one. This gargantuan tri-band router not only turned in record-breaking times on our throughput tests, but it also happens to be the coolest-looking router we've ever seen.
Blazing throughput speeds; Good range performance; Edgy design; User-friendly management interface
Expensive; Large footprint; So-so file transfer performance
It is very fast
It is large and expensive for what you get
I find myself frustrated over finding a product that will resolve my connectivity issues within my own house. I live in a multi-story home, and find that once again, I got my hopes up after watching ads for this thing. I am no better off than the Linksys I had.
