Four stream AC2600/AC3150 routers would be the new three-stream AC1900 by now if it weren't for their higher prices. Although there are bargains to be had, the cost of that extra stream and the additional performance it brings is generally around 50 bucks more.
Overall, a great router for those who want dual-band AC2600 Wi-Fi, but do not want to tear out their wallet for extra features.

D-Link DIR-882 EXO AC2600 review
The D-Link DIR-882 is an interesting combination of solid wireless technology and useful extra features including DNLA and FTP. The modest extra cost of this over an AC1900 design makes it an interesting proposition for those that use their Wi-Fi heavily or exclusively.
One of the most exciting additions to the world of wireless routers is the EXO AC2600 from D-Link. Slow, Buggy, to be avoided.
I wrote a review on this early tonight but left out key problems with this device. Problems with the device: I'm running a Trendnet tew-810dr with a TPLINK ac1200 adapter. I have a 20Mbps ISP connect.

Plugged-in to our VDSL Spark Modem and turned wifi off on the modem. Powered on the router, set a wifi password and connected all the families devices by either wifi or cable. What a difference in speed. Wow! Thanks D-Link what a difference.
Review: D-Link DIR-882 EXO AC2600 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router
A simple, fast and inexpensive router
It has been a little bit since we last tested a DLink solution and it was good to see what they have been up to. With that said, its quite apparent with the 882 that build quality wasn't the number one goal. The enclosure of the router feels hollow and plastics are very cheap.
D-Link EXO AC2600 review: A simple, affordable router
The EXO AC2600 is a very sensible router. The design is compact and scrupulously sober, and the technical specification carefully ticks all of the important boxes, without wasting too much effort and expense on niche features.- Practical design
- Good wired connectivity
- Limited range
- Not the fastest on the market
