I was a bit hesitant to buy this device based on previous experience of another portable router made by Netgear. This device was advertised by D-Link as having a firmware update to accommodate 3G/4G compatibility and a list of the compatible modems that can be used on this device.

Love it! comes with great features and the internal battery has come in handy more than a few times! It's really light and great for travel.

I found this is router is very nice to have in a Ethernet only wired vacation condo. It works great with my fire stick tv wifi, phone, tablet, laptop, all that. Read the instructions. It's probably best to set it up with a regular Windows O/S PC but may not be a requirement.

The item is received in good condition and is working very fine :) Configuration lil difficult.

It works fine. It battery life is of only 2 hrs which is very less. I tested it after full 4 hrs recharge. It takes time to warm up.

I purchased this dlink dir506l router it's a good one which supports my cdma dongle to and provides Wi-Fi hotspot. You can connect your 3g/4g dongle(If it is compatible with this router), Also there are other few modes such as repeater, etc. provided.

Was a wee bit tricky to set up, but after I installed the lastest firmware it sorted all issues I had

I thought it was able to be used as a hot spot with my cell phone. It wasn't designed to do that. I returned it for a refund. What it does do is converts a wired internet to a wireless connection. It has to be connected to a wired wifi, then it works like a charm.

Capable of many different functions, it's handy to have it around.

The main feature of this Go Mobile Companion is to allow sharing files and internet connections. The file sharing has much to be desired. The unit does not allow for access with Windows file sharing. In order to access the files, you need to use the web browser, or for Android the app.

This D-Link router has some great promise; but there is still much to be desired before this could become a necessary gadget

The major drawbacks to this device is in the software it runs; It appears to be nothing more than the standard D-Link firmware that has been copied from one of their other routers and it has been very flakey for me.
