No default password

Cannot get into switch and cannot get information from D-Link. No default passwords work. May have to return unit if cannot get into it. Most units have defaults or defaults can be found online. Not so with this model.

Noisy

Bought one of these and am now regretting it. Green or not (oddly enough it has no on/off switch), there is a loud fan which runs constantly regardless of load. The noise level is louder than a typical PC - equivalent to someone constantly vacuuming in the next room.

Review: D-Link DGS-1024D 24-Port Gigabit Switch

Recently I have been adding so many devices to my network that I ran out of space on my switch and I needed a new one. My desire to expand my network has not stopped so I wanted a switch that would offer a lot of extra room. I settled on the D-Link DGS-1024D 24-Port Gigabit Switch

Decent Cheap Switch

This is a decent switch, gets the job done, and is reasonably priced for a gigabit switch. This switch claims it's "Green". It uses 0.09 Amps and 6-7 Watts while on without any active connections.

Cost; Compact; Rack Mountable; Energy Efficiency

It's extremely tiny when rack mounted, barely takes up any room; Not manageable

Works Great!

Plug it in, hook everything up, there you go, works as it should! Likely the lowest maintenance item in your entire network!

Great value for a 24 port gig swtich

The switch made a big change in my network. No management and low fan noise are the only down side to this switch.

Contant maintenance

Ive had this unit for about 3 months and Im contantly having to reboot it to recognize all my tech. I have 3 Blu-ray players, 3 computers, 2 NAS, an XBOX, and 2 HD-DVD players...all connected to this switch. Only the computers run Gigabit.

24 ports; gigabit; D-link name

Constantly had to reboot

Brcfree

These units are enclosed in a metal case. With,..threaded mounting holes on the back panel! This was especially helpful to me as I did not use the provided bracket: Instead, I used about "6 Fine thread screws"of sufficient length to mount it flush to pegboard, making for a neat appearance.

Ports snap in with a positive click; Industrial, over all quality and quiet operation; No.; fans; Just plug all your Ethernet cables in; No.; Special wire configuring needed

This looks, as for what it is, commercial equipment; Some may eschew, But, I appreciate the quality and the statement that appearance makes
