Crysis 3 review – technical demonstration

It has some of the best graphics ever seen in a video game, but is that – or the excellent multiplayer – enough to make Crysis 3 a winner?

Superb graphics are amongst the best of the generation; The nanosuit is still an interesting idea and the bow is great; Multiplayer mode is hugely entertaining

Bland set pieces and unremarkable weapons and enemies; Uneven artificial intelligence, and unbalanced difficulty; Story and characters make zero impact

Try Harder

This was a game with a fair plot, good writing and great acting. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but I don't know if I could say that about the game play. I was expecting for of a level up type system like a RPG but I was presented with something boring and not given many choices when it came to...

Crysis 3 Review

Ken tackles the console version of Crysis 3 and finds out if it indeed is inferior to its PC counterpart. Oh also fun.

+ Hunter mode; + Visuals are stunning; + The bow is awesome

The bow also breaks the game; Campaign is a snore fest; Atrocious enemy AI; Series feels like it is regressing

Crysis 3 PC Review

Was anyone really dying for a third game in the Crysis series? Sure, the first game had some next-level visuals and FPS combat in wide, open environments, but the second game narrowed that down and took Crysis down the path of the more traditional, linear games set along narrow paths that we usually...

Crysis 3

There is a reason why our Crysis 3 review is a touch late: we weren't happy putting pen to paper before we had set eyes on the PC version of the game. It took a little longer, but we've finally had the game ticking along on our rig for a few days now.

Looks great; nanosuit gameplay still fun

Buggy and linear with a short campaign

Crysis 3

Hate story, like power-stealth, and love multiplayer? Get in.

Redeeming multiplayer; Looks fantastic; Stealthy bow-crawling is great; Harder levels much more rewarding

Story fails to engage; Short campaign; Potential realised slightly too late

It remains an enjoyable game

By and The first person shooter genre is riddled with the good, the bad, and the awful. Franchises like Call of Duty and Halo dominate sales because overall, they excel at their own identity. Many have tried to copy them, but few have managed to get the formula just right.

Crysis 3 Review

Even if you don't entirely care about the Prophet's world-saving antics, there's still enjoyment to be had with Crysis 3. In fact, I enjoyed it a great deal. It's a testament to the concept that bow and arrows can make anything better.

Crysis 3

Everybody remembers Crysis 2 not so much for how pretty it was to ogle, but because it eschewed an otherwise concrete open-world formula in favour of a somewhat more linear design approach.

Crysis 3: Hunter Edition Review – Xbox 360

The Crysis franchise has become the de facto standard by which PC gamers not only gauge the performance of their beloved gaming rigs, but also start spec'ing out their future upgrades and new system purchases every time a new sequel is announced.
