Crysis 2 Review

It's no secret that first-person shooters have stagnated. Carbon copies with shinier textures continue to sell incredibly well. Like these clones, Crysis 2 does little to create new material in the genre, though it cobbles together disparate gameplay elements that do create a level of interest that...

Players can creatively traverse levels; Highly polished presentation

Story is not gripping; Can become redundant

Good gameplay, no vehicles in multiplayer, a few bugs

I bought the game hoping to find a mixture of halo and call of duty, but after playing I felt like it was leaning a lot more on the call of duty end of things. There are some very unique game elements thrown in which I really enjoy such as invisibility and armor boost, but also some that I think are...

What Crysis?

The single-player portion of Crysis 2 is... ok. There's not much more to say about it. Yes, the visuals are stunning with a ruined Manhattan setting being a perfect showcase for it, but it doesn't offer the freedom that the original gave to players and it's short.

Gameplay sets it apart from other FPSs; stunning graphics; excellent online multiplayer

Very poor story; boring single - player; terrible AI

Not as good as everyone makes out

There is soooo much hype about this game and being a die hard COD fan, I was quite eager to give it a go and see if it is as good as people say.... unfortunately I have to say i am disappointed. First, the positives.... graphically, the game is fantastic, smoke, water, fire etc all look great.

WR: Crysis 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

When posing the question "Does it run Crysis ?" to console owners, considering it was a PC-only title, the answer would always be unequivocally, " no" . But now PS3 and Xbox 360 owners need no longer feel left out as the sequel to 2007's Crysis is finally here and available on consoles.

Large and detailed environments; Very high-res textures; Solid score and voice acting; Environments offer different tactical options to take down enemies; Suit abilities are fun to use and can be upgraded; Great looking maps; Nicely balanced combat; Campaign is a decent length

Yes there is a story here but it mainly involves being sent from one place to the next by a rotating cast of characters; Lighting effects are nothing impressive; Audio glitches and inconsistensies; Towards the end it devolves into basic FPS combat; Limited customization options; Difficulty is fairly...

Crysis 2 Review

Furthermore, the twelve maps are graphically just as impressive as the single player campaign, with a variety of iconic locations such as the financial district of Wall Street, or the Statue of Liberty, providing a plethora of tactical options.

The fact it is the best looking shooter on PlayStation 3; Tons of weapon variation and tactical opportunity; The rewarding multiplayer component

The unexciting campaign; Stealth mode feels cheap; The erratic A.I.

Crysis 2

Crysis 2 ticks all the right boxes, with a lengthy campaign that packs plenty of replay value and multiplayer options that are bound to prove a big hit. If only the suit's powers were managed a little better, and the AI was up to scratch, we'd be recommending this outright.

Better than COD

A good game. I will never buy another COD or Balck Ops game again. I'm not into online multiplayer at ALL and used to play those games purely for their single player campaign modes. They were short, easy, and gave the player NO CHOICE in how to complete a mission.

Crysis 2 Review (PS3)

Sandbox shooting for the cerebral gamer. Woop woop, it's finally here! The sequel to one of my favourite PC AAA titles has brought some nice sandbox action to console players, and offers a refreshing world in which to shoot stuff.

Excellent; engaging single player campaign; fanstastic level design allows for real varied gameplay; great design; visuals and sound; good multiplayer suite; the suit rocks

Gameplay will put off as many gamers as it attracts; multiplayer doesn't offer much that is new; storyline is confusing and not very well explained

Review: Crysis 2

Crysis 2 leaps out of a lengthy campaign of marketing and hype and ground stomps into the rubble-filled streets of Lower Manhattan . When it hits the right beats it is a game which is unrivalled in its little sub genre but there are one or two caveats to that wholesome praise.

Looks beautiful on consoles; approaching the best of PlayStation 3 exclusives; The story is compelling and expertly written; The movement and superhuman abilities are used to great effect; Cinematics are fantastic and the vistas often breathtaking

Checkpointing ranges from just acceptable to infuriatingly tough; Voice delivery is often a bit wooden; Some little AI glitches and multiplayer balancing could put people off
