Corsair Xeneon 32QHD165 Review

Large, immersive form factor; Plenty of connectivity; Loads of Corsair-friendly features; Reasonable colours in certain situations;

Underwhelming contrast; Pricier than some rivals; Slower than some competitors;

Corsair Xeneon 32QHD165 Review

As the PC gaming market continues through its second renaissance, interest in upgraded peripherals like high-resolution gaming monitors has also surged. Established monitor makers are stepping up to the plate to meet that demand, while new contenders are taking the opportunity to find a foothold. Corsair, well known for gaming gear ranging from cases and components to complete desktop PCs, has given its first gaming monitor one of the most on-the-nose model names we've ever seen: The $799.99 Xeneon 32QHD165 is—you guessed it—a 32-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and QHD resolution. It aims to compete with options like Gigabyte's recent Editors' Choice award-winning Aorus FI32Q at the same list price. Alas for Corsair, the awesome Aorus is on sale for just $599 at this writing, making comparisons between the two a moot point unless Corsair's model gets discounted to well below MSRP. The FI32Q also delivers much better performance in HDR, something we don't necessarily expect ...

Corsair's first gaming monitor, the Xeneon 32QHD165, is an impressive attempt at keeping competitive with industry stalwarts. Only its HDR implementation—and to an extent, its pricing—keeps it from being a big hit the first time at bat.

Exceptional color accuracy and gamut coverage; Great gaming performance; Low input lag; Sturdy and unique stand design

Expensive, if it remains at full MSRP; Poor HDR implementation; So-so results in contrast-ratio testing
