Corsair HS50 Stereo Gaming Headset Review

The moment I start looking for a headset, I usually bypass anything less than $100, because the typical pricepoint that equates a high level of performance with an outstanding in-game experience is at least $100. At least. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Corsair HS50 Stereo Review

The HS50 Stereo is Corsair's new mainstream 3.5mm headset, which will sit alongside the Void Pro flagship range. We assume that more advanced SKUs of the HS50 will launch, but nothing has been confirmed.

Corsair HS50 Review

Low cost headsets are often end up compromising on either comfort, audio quality or its construction. With that in mind, it makes sense that Corsair set their engineers to task to deliver a low-cost no-compromise gaming headset; enter the HS50.

Corsair HS50 Stereo Gaming Headset Review: Just Good Enough

Almost every gaming peripheral has one unique feature. Even the most unremarkable mouse, keyboard or headset usually has one thing - even if it's just a tiny bell or whistle - that sets it apart from the scads of competitors on the market.

Comfortable fit; Decent game audio; Inexpensive

Disappointing music performance; Dated design; No defining features

Corsair HS50 STEREO Gaming Headset Review

The Corsair HS50 sets a very high bar for a budget-conscious gaming headset, trading surround effects for very high build quality (seriously, these are built like much more expensive headphones) and solid 2-channel sound.

Corsair HS50 Gaming Headset Review

Considering its price of just £55, it is very well built – using a combination of metal and plastic, it feels rigid and strong, and definitely able to cope with one or two knocks.

Affordable; Good build quality and comfort; Looks good; On-ear controls; Sounds quality is impressive; particularly the detail in the high-end; Mic is also decent

Ear cushions aren't removable

Corsair HS50 Stereo Gaming Headset

Corsair has built upon a range of Void gaming headsets with newer iterations released on a regular cadence. These headsets have select combinations of surround sound, RGB lighting and wired and wireless support, though starting at £85, they are out of the reach of the casual gamer.

Minimalist design; Comfortable; Become pleasingly loud; Fully-detachable microphone

Corsair HS50 Stereo Gaming Headset Review

Well hey now, impressive, for 50 USD/EUROs Corsair has a really good headset to offer! I mean, I heard you guys state it in previous Corsair reviews, please strip the RGB, wireless and audio card. Well, this is the end-result. A pure analog headset with two proper 50mm drivers.
