"Silent" edition is a big stretch.

Not a terrible case, just average. However, I'm seriously disappointed with how much noise escapes considering it's branded as silent . It's honestly just as noisy with the panels off as with them on so the sound dampening lining isn't doing anything.

Small for a mid tower and not flashy (strengths for me; maybe not for you Has a routing panel for cable management Physical toggle for fan speeds (3 settings) Not many openings which will reduce dust build up Can fit 3 fans (2 front; 1 back).

This thing is NOT silent; Not even with fans on lowest setting.Very disappointing Very little room between cable routing panel and side panel, really struggled to get the panel back on and the cables are definitely all jammed up in there.

The Corsair Carbide Series 100R is offered in two different variants which has helped them take aim at two different target markets. The regular versions offers basic equipment and thereby comes in at a lower price point, the Silent Edition on the other hand while costing slightly more, is offered...

Silent measures are effective with whisper quiet fans; Still passable cooling reserves; Tool-free installation of 3.5" and 5.25" drives; I/O panel easily accessible with two USB 3.0 ports; Protected dust filter for the power supply

Cramped interior; Small housing width means reduced space for CPU cooler and cable management; Low material strength; Cable management can be restrictive; No HDD decoupling; no tool-free installation of expansion cards

Corsair Carbide 100R

Earlier this year Corsair announced what would be their most affordable computer case to date, the Carbide 100R. Selling for a price of just $50, without the need for rebates, should spark the interest of budget builders.

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Corsair has really delivered a great product here and while there is essentially nothing new or innovative on offer, it ticks all the right boxes. The 100R Silent I looked at today is a great product and it offers incredibly competitive value for money.

Good build quality; Smart aesthetics inside and out; Built-in fan controller (Silent model only; Pre-installed sound dampening material (Silent model only; Large side panel window (Window model only; Two good quality fans pre-installed; Dust filters

Limited space for dual GPU setup (given the length of most mid to high-end cards

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition Chassis Review

The Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition is a great quality case that isn't going to break the bank. If you're in the market for a quiet case the Carbide 100R Silent Edition should be at the top of your list.

Corsair Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition

The evolution of PC hardware is such that today's more powerful components don't run as hot or as loud as you might think. It wasn't that long ago that building a truly high-end rig required careful planning for lavish cooling solutions installed inside formidably-sized enclosures, but modern builds...

Well suited to a budget build; Built-in fan controller; Sound-dampened throughout

Struggles with high-end hardware; Can feel constrained on the inside; Cable management is tricky

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Review

In the last 6 months we've been struggling to keep up with Corsair's onslaught of product releases. The multi-channel hardware giant has been relentless in their passion to supply enthusiasts with the latest computer tech.

+ Clean aesthetics; + Decent build quality; + Low-noise features; + Extra features with silent edition; + Great value for money

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition Review

The Corsair Carbide 100R comes in two distinct flavours. The review sample we'll be looking at being the Silent edition of the case as opposed to the slightly cheaper version which comes with a side window but minus and front fans.

Corsair has delivered two very attractive cases for casual enthusiasts and DIYers, each geared towards a different need. Those who have no problems with noise will really love the vanilla Carbide 100R for its huge transparent side panel - something that has till now been available only on much more...
