The Corsair Carbide Series 100R is offered in two different variants which has helped them take aim at two different target markets. The regular versions offers basic equipment and thereby comes in at a lower price point, the Silent Edition on the other hand while costing slightly more, is offered...

Silent measures are effective with whisper quiet fans; Still passable cooling reserves; Tool-free installation of 3.5" and 5.25" drives; I/O panel easily accessible with two USB 3.0 ports; Protected dust filter for the power supply

Cramped interior; Small housing width means reduced space for CPU cooler and cable management; Low material strength; Cable management can be restrictive; No HDD decoupling; no tool-free installation of expansion cards

Corsair Carbide 100R

Earlier this year Corsair announced what would be their most affordable computer case to date, the Carbide 100R. Selling for a price of just $50, without the need for rebates, should spark the interest of budget builders.

new build

perfectly adequate for non-gaming system although ended up changing the fans. Not that impressed by the switch at the back to control fans so took whole lot out and fitted new fans. Hard drive carriers plastic and not very substantial.

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition

Coming from the lower rung of Corsair's PC cabinet portfolio, the Carbide 100R Silent edition case is aimed at users looking to house their low to mid end ATX builds and save space in the process.

Simple look; Very silent; 3-Speed fan controller

No top fan mounts; Less space inside to work in; Tall air coolers will have trouble fitting in; A bit costly

Corsair Carbide Series 100R Case Review

So you sold that first Kidney to buy the newest and highest priced video cards, CPU and Motherboard.

– Paint job is excellent; – looks are classic Obsidian; – panel and buttons are well positioned; – Strong yet lightweight; – Front water "AIO" install is very quiet; – I liked the reset button placement and the lighted controls; – Rubber coated thumb screws

– CPU access Hole is not large enough for the ATX.; Get you Dremel ready, – P8 or CPU power cord hole is near is too close to I/O Shield and top corner standoff, – Clearance at top is nonexistent except for two 120 fans, – Back Fan reverberates with the thin steel in the back, – no Rubber grommets...

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Corsair has really delivered a great product here and while there is essentially nothing new or innovative on offer, it ticks all the right boxes. The 100R Silent I looked at today is a great product and it offers incredibly competitive value for money.

Good build quality; Smart aesthetics inside and out; Built-in fan controller (Silent model only; Pre-installed sound dampening material (Silent model only; Large side panel window (Window model only; Two good quality fans pre-installed; Dust filters

Limited space for dual GPU setup (given the length of most mid to high-end cards

Corsair, or Corsair Microsystems as they were originally named when established back in 1994 started out as a developer of Level 2 Cache modules for OEMs. Intel eventually incorporated the Level 2 Cache into their processors which is when Corsair start to focus on DRAM modules.

- Great performance; - Stylish aesthetics; - Good cable management; - Comes equipped with a fan controller

- No dedicated SSD mounting; - EPS connector is not 100% compatible with normal ATX motherboards (though you can make it work

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent review

For 50 to 60 USD Corsair has a nice little offering with the 100R, certainly its not a grand product or anything, in fact it's quite a bit of metal and plastic with somewhat common looks. The 100R however does shin in its price range thanks to a very decent feature-set.

Corsair Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition Review

There are certainly lots of things the Carbide 100R Silent Edition does right. It takes much of what was good about the Spec-01 and the exterior is, as we're sure you'll agree, much improved. With dust filtering, dual USB 3 ports, fan control and a removable HDD cage, the 100R is well-featured.

Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition Chassis Review

The Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition is a great quality case that isn't going to break the bank. If you're in the market for a quiet case the Carbide 100R Silent Edition should be at the top of your list.
