Cisco RV180W Wireless-N Multifunction Router

The Cisco RV180W Wireless-N Multifunction Router ($246 MSRP) makes it easy to set up a firewall, a VPN server, a router, and a wireless network with a single, compact box. The company also offers the RV180 ($182), with all the same features minus the wireless network.

Easy to set up; Detailed management interface; IPv6 ready; Supports VLANs; Gigabit Ethernet

Sluggish interface; Web filtering rules are too basic; Can't tell when VPN users are connected; Confusing VPN setup

Picked up this router, speeds and range seem ok. Noticed that CPU utilization is pretty much consistently at 100%. The interface is as slow as molasses in January. This is one of the few routers that I've seen that will do VLAN routing on the LAN side (not sure about the WAN side) which is useful...

Rich featureset, supports VLAN routing, multiple SSID, awesome box on paper for the pricepoint, but not in practice..; yet

Not ready for the market

Fed up after two years

I would love to get a better quality router from Cisco, but I think I am stuck with this piece of junk. Doesn't anyone make a good small business router for under $600?

Good if you get one that works; Tech support is very good

Unreliable; My first unit worked great for about a year and a half before the radio became unstable; I ended up turning it off and buying the excellent Engenius ECB300 to use as a high-power access point; About six months after that, I noticed Internet speeds dropping significantly.

Complete waste of time and money.

It's a shame but this router isn't up to the standard of other Cisco products and is not fit for purpose
