Basically, and briefly, as I age (nearly 40) I am truly growing tired of my favorite pastimes inability to keep me interested. Once in a while something comes along that while not triple A in gameplay, is presented in such a unique and trend bucking way that my imagination is once again captured.
Catherine is an unprecedented exploration of the pleasures and horrors of love. As Vincent, a man recently succumbed to the irresistible beauty of the game's titular diversion players find themselves swept into a treacherous love triangle.
Catherine is more of an experience than a game, and the random player won't know what the heck is going on. This game is beautiful, challenging and deep on a level no other game attempts to go for, but ultimately may alienate more people than it wins over.

As an artistic medium, video games are still relatively young. Barely decades have passed since the first console was released to the home market, and while the advances in technology have been rapid, the evolution of theme and narrative has dwindled.
Catherine's disparate elements aren't unlike a marriage in and of themselves. Alone they can be frustrating or even a little boring, but when paired up, they become a whole experience that shouldn't be missed. Definitely check this game out.
The rating "mature" can be applied to any game with a gratuitous amount of violence, cursing, or sex, but Catherine is an M-rated game with a difference: It actually IS mature. It deals with many real-life situations, such as infidelity, obsession, and alcoholism.
You wont find a game as unique, addicting and creative as Catherine..in modern day gaming. A strange mix between challenging puzzles and dating sim where your decisions alter the outcome of the game.
There's a reason why this game was reviewed so high. The game: Makes you think about real relationship issues. The puzzle solving levels are just fun, period. You look forward to the next movie event to see what will happen to Vincent, Even though those situations are just crazy...
