Canon RF 35mm F1.8 IS STM Macro is a versatile carry-around lens for Canon's new EOS R system. The only non-'L' lens in the initial RF lineup, the 35mm F1.8 provides a lightweight, compact and relatively affordable solution for EOS R and RP shooters.
Pros:
- Canon EOS R shooters that want a compact, sharp lens for everyday shooting and closeup work.

I enjoyed using the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro during my time with it. The light weight and strong image quality, combined with the affordable price, means that it deserves a place in a lot of photographers’ bags.

The Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM is the dark horse of the new Canon full-frame mirrorless system. By far the cheapest, lightest and most compact RF lens, it's also arguably the most versatile too, doubling up as both a great 35mm prime and a 1:2 magnification macro lens.

Although not the perfect choice for the EOS RP, the RF 35mm f/1.8 is the only RF-mount lens so far that fits comfortably on the lighter, more compact camera body. It’s also the most affordable of the RF lenses on offer so far.
