Hardware wise awesome but software wise not
Clarity is awesome. Low light performance is not that great. Uses higher iso value and spoils image in low light. Lacks some function. Face detection works on very short distance only. Overall great hardware not so great software. Worth the money though. I have some pics that look like DSLR images.

This is a excellent camera. It is compacted and easy to carry with you. The wifi is easy to use and make it possible to transfer photos to your phone.

Camera was great until...
Camera was great until the lens stopped working. It is stuck extended and I have an error on my screen. Currently trying to return to Canon for warrant fix. Will update with how that goes.

Tiny! Great video!
This tiny camera fits easily in your pocket and takes good, clear pictures and video. My students often perfected the video from this camera to the camcorders provided for the class. Mega gear "ultra-light" case fits it well with space for another card.

Canon PowerShot SX610 HS
The Canon PowerShot SX610 HS ($249.99) is an affordable compact camera with a long 18x zoom lens. It's loaded with features, including Wi-Fi and Canon's fun Creative Shot mode, but its 20-megapixel image sensor does more to detract from image quality than it does to add to it.
Pros:
- Compact
- 18x zoom lens
- Quick focus
- Creative Shot mode
- Crisp rear LCD
- Wi-Fi
Cons:
- Image quality suffers at moderate ISOs
- Slow continuous drive mode

Canon PowerShot SX610 HS Review
The Canon PowerShot SX610 HS is an attractive compact camera with an 18x zoom lens, but image quality takes a step back from last year's edition. If you want a long zoom camera in this price range, you're better served with the SX600 HS ( at Amazon) , which is a year old but still available at retail. Our favorite pocket superzoom is more expensive, but we think that the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50 ($350.00 at Amazon) is more than worth its asking price, and that makes it our Editors' Choice. Design and FeaturesThe SX610 HS ($258.98 at Amazon) measures just 2.4 by 4.1 by 1.1 inches (HWD) and weighs 6.7 ounces. It slides into a pocket with ease, thanks to its slim body. The chassis incorporates both metal and plastic, but it feels solidly built nonetheless. The lines of its body are a little more angular than those of the SX600 HS (2.4 by 4.1 by 1 inch,...

An Adventurer's Camera - Best Camera I've Owned
Canon's SX610 HS is my single go-to camera for my many wild nature adventures, because it's the best camera I've ever owned. I demand high-quality images, and this delivers with the quality I expect from a Canon. On the go, I don't reach for my Rebel DSLR; I go for this quality point-and-shoot.

While Canon's PowerShot SX610 HS camera has reached the 20 megapixels of resolution threshold -- a level of resolution that seemed unlikely for most point and shoot cameras just a few years ago -- just reaching 20MP isn't enough to guarantee that the SX610 is a great camera.
