Canon PowerShot SX280HS

It's not difficult to see why travel zoom range compacts have proved so popular over recent times. The combination of a large zoom, manual controls, a good level of image quality and other advanced features, all in a pocketable body, make this type of compact the perfect travel companion.

Good compact design; Impressive image quality; Built-in Wi-Fi; High speed shooting mode

High speed mode is in reduced MP; Poor battery life; Pop-up flash position

Me new camera

A fairly high-end pocket compact with plenty of megapixels giving lots of potential for cropping eminently useful pictures from quite small parts of the original image, this camera is heavier than expected for one of its size and is fitted with a GPS and with WiFi to transfer images to your laptop,

Durable; Great Picture Quality; Heavy For Its Size; Simple Controls

Gps - Gimmick

Great little Camera

This is a great little camera. The only issue I have had with it is the battery display and the camera shutting off in video mode, for which Canon has a firmware update. However I continued to have the same issue after updating the firmware, confirming the update and even after resetting the camera...

Great little camera

Canon PowerShot SX280 HS: Brilliant camera with a couple of flaws

I have also DSLR and wanted an alternative so I didn't have to lug the DSLR around on long trips and save space. The picture quality is 100 times better than what i get from my ELPH 300 HS. The auto focus speed is extremely good on this camera and video looks crisp.

Warranty is worthless on this product -- no repairs, just replace at your expense! Caution!

Compact size and flexibility

Difficult to use at times; flash is in the way (hard to hold); can't see screen in sunlight

"Outstanding Picture Quality with Canon PowerShot SX 280 HS"

I have been looking for a brilliant digital camera from quite a some time. The market is loaded with lots of digital cameras having great features. So making a choice was a bit tough job for me, as it is an expensive item and I want complete value for my hard earned money.

Loaded with latest technologies and brilliant 20X optical zoom

Price should be slight low

Canon PowerShot SX280

This has 20x optical zoom and its added weight is well distributed to make it holdable even with a substantial amount of zoom. While some may consider that 12.1MP is a little ‘small' it is all down to the quality of the CMOS chip.

Canon's uninspired travel zoom is a step in the wrong direction.

Canon PowerShot SX280 HS review: Excellent camera, but buy extra batteries

With the PowerShot SX280 HS, Canon's top compact megazoom for 2013, it's all about the processor.

Wi-Fi connectivity and a new processor help make Canon's PowerShot SX280 HS one of the top compact megazooms available. But you'd better load up on batteries.

The Canon PowerShot SX280 HS has shooting modes for every type of photographer from casual to advanced; a useful long zoom lens with excellent image stabilization; and overall excellent photo and video quality for a compact megazoom.

Battery life is short, especially if you use the Wi-Fi and GPS features or movie capture; The flash isn't in a great location, and there are no easy panorama or HDR shooting options.
