I sent the camera in and they just sent me an E-mail that they were going to exchange my "new" hardly used camera with a used one. I called them to complain, but they told me that that's they way they do things. Also, the used camera has the same serial number sequence that has problems.

I've owned about 6 Powershots; This one was out of focus for about half the photos and videos from day one; I pre-ordered it because I wanted to have it for my vacation in Cancun.
I love this series of cameras, but the flashing battery light after only a couple of minutes of video make it unusable for me. Check that, it is just plain defective since HD video is one of it's main touted features.
Can only put canon software on c: drive on your computer and CANON sAYS IT WILL NOT CHANGE THIS. If you have small sst system drive you can use the software. That is an "ignorant, impractical and way behind the times use of technology".

I bought this camera to replace my other older Cannon that quit working on my first day of vacation.The Zoom is very powerful if that is what you need. And the pictures are very good quality in the full auto mode.

A great buy; the lens covers a fantastically wide angle and the 20x zoom has produced some fine wild life shots. I now prefer it to my SLR. Compact enough to fit into any pocket. Yes, I love it.
