Canon PowerShot S90 review
Within the current Canon PowerShot range there are two compact cameras that are designed to appeal to the enthusiast photographer. Although the Canon PowerShot S90 is smaller and lighter than its sibling, the PowerShot G11, the two cameras share many of the same features.

Canon S90 Very Good
This is a very cool little camera. Cool because it has a bright (f/2.0) wide (20mm eqiv) lens. Cool because it has lots of manual controls and a unique control ring around the lens barrel where aperture rings used to be. The lens is very sharp, and image quality is very good.

Canon PowerShot S90 IS
Canon markets the PowerShot S90 as "the perfect everyday camera for people who are serious about great photography". This is close to on point, though we would change it to perfect everyday compact camera. The lens, controls and shooting options make it a fine choice for enthusiasts.
Pros:
- Excellent control system for manual
- semi-manual shooting
- Fantastic wide-angle f/2 lens
- Very good low-light photo quality
Cons:
- Performance is merely average
- No HD movie mode or optical zoom while recording
- No optical viewfinder and a couple of other design miscues

Canon PowerShot S90 review
The Canon PowerShot S90 compact digital camera is the best pocket-size model we've seen. Even though it's a fraction of the size of a digital SLR, it provides many of the features we value in larger cameras: a fast lens, a RAW option and high ISO capture. It's not perfect by any means.
