Great

I bought this camera a couple of weeks ago based on the APS C sensor primarily. The reviews claimed a mushy lens and only a 24 to 72mm lens range. I after testing the camera finally found the shooting adjustments. They are listed by numbers such as 5 2 4 0 0.

I do long ocean swims several times each week and have been carrying a camera with me on those swims for the past thirteen years. I briefly tried towing a bowling ball (Canon 5D in giant Ikelite housing) behind me, but when it refused to focus on a Humpback Whale swimming by, I gave up on it.

Good product, good delivery

Very pleased with delivery and, more importantly, the excellent little camera. Thanks.

High quality build, great performance!

This camera gets a lot of negative attention because it doesn't have a microphone input and shoot 4k video, but for what you get, these are very small compromises. I looked closely at the Sony RX100 V before I bought this, which does rectify the above issues, but ultimately comes with some...

Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III review

+ Impressively compact; given the sensor size; + Excellent control layout and handling; + Class-leading image quality; + Robust weather-resistant construction; + Simple but powerful smartphone connectivity

Lens is somewhat limited in terms of creative potential; Relatively poor battery life; No 4K video recording

Smartphones have captured the camera market a lot, yet for enthusiasts, only a camera can do the job. Canon recently announced PowerShot G1 XMark III, it is a high-end compact camera with a 24MP APS-C sized sensor, Dual Pixel autofocus, and a 24-72mm equivalent F2.8-5.6 zoom lens.

Build quality; compact; general shots; landscapes; controls

Expensive

Excellent and light weight camera

I ordered this camera a few days before departing on a long out of the country trip. Should have given myself more time to learn the equipment because this is a fine camera with many features. The package arrived on time and in good condition.

Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III Review: A Powerful But Pricey Point-and-Shoot for Travelers

Advanced bridge cameras such as the Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III ($1,299) can make great travel companions, because they have large image sensors and high-quality optical-zoom lenses.

Compact and lightweight; Very good for travel; Offers many scene modes; Excellent in low light and challenging lighting; Responsive swiveling touch screen

Lacks 4K video recording; Only 3x optical zoom; Slightly less versatile than other high-end bridge cameras; Very pricey for its class

Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III

The Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III is a camera that leaves me with very mixed feelings. It puts an APS-C sensor and zoom lens into a form factor we haven't seen before-one that's pocketable-and both the lens and sensor are quite good.

Big, APS-C image sensor; Compact body; Dual Pixel AF; EVF; Vari-angle touch LCD; Dust and moisture resistant

Expensive; Short, narrow aperture zoom lens; Disappointing battery life; Eye sensor active with LCD away from body; Video limited to 1080p
