It did need to be charged up. I was told that from the beginning that it would. I'm glad it is a Canon and not a Chinese knock-off. I'm sure these batteries will be very reliable.

I originally purchased my camera and accessories through Crutchfield and was extremely satisfied. When I needed an additional battery or other accessories there is no better choice for me than Crutchfield.

Charges fast and lasts through several hours of constant photos and video capturing. It is always good to have extras. Get an extra battery. These are Canon batteries too.

Just what I needed to take photos all day long. Although a bit pricey, it works well with no problems.

Bought this so my wife could have a spare ready when she needs it. Works just as good as the one that came with the t2i I bought her for Christmas. Hasn't let her down yet. I recommend buying a second battery if you plan do much photography away from ready access to outlets.
