good so far, but more experience needed
We bought this camera for size, ease of use and video. We've only experimented a little, but it seems to take good pictures. The video quality isn't as good as we were hoping for. It may take some practice to make smooth video clips. And we haven't viewed anything yet on a 1080p capable monitor.- Easy To Use
- Fast/accurate auto-focus
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- Good in Low Light
- Great Zoom
- Large Clear LCD
- Nice Body Color
- Short Lag Time
- Small / Compact
Canon's latest crop of IXUS compacts continues to target fashion-conscious photographers who don't want to compromise on features, with the new 12.1mp IXUS 310 HS replacing the 10mp 300 HS.
Canon IXUS 310 HS Digital Camera Review
As my 100th match fizzled out without taking light, in my desperate attempts to light a romantic fire, I couldn't help taking another look over the pile of broken, unlit, unburnt, useless pile of ‘no name' brand matches.

No different from other Canon cameras, I get a USB cable and AV cable in the sales package. In addition, charger, strap, CD applications, and guide books. The range of only 4.4 x zoom lens Slightly shorter than the Ixus in general.
Great camera
Purchased this camera before going on vacation. I was really satisfied with the shipping, I received it quickly. As well, I was really satisfied with the camera itself. I was able to take good pictures and shoot videos while on vacation.
Quantum leap in technology
At last! Canon have finally cracked it...a point-and-shoot that has everything...24mm super-wide angle lens, HD movie, 16:9 format, fabulous large touchscreen, Aperture or Shutter Priority as well as fully automatic, and custom settings, plus a FAST 2.0 lens for great available light shots in dark...
Canon PowerShot ELPH 500 HS
Canon goes after the smartphone crowd with a pocketable wide-angle lens and a large touchscreen interface. Low light performance is good, and gets better with the company's Handheld NightScene mode.- 12.1-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, Outstanding 3.2-inch LCD screen rated 461K dots, Compact size with 4.4x optical zoom lens, 24-105mm eq

Great value; hope to learn to be a better photographer.
So far this camera has exceeded my expectations. Going from my last Sony to this Canon has been a big advance for me. The touch screen is something else and no need for a view finder. Hope it lasts through a million shots. Time will tell!
