They don't quite offer the same extent of manual control as the compacts towards the top end of the parallel PowerShot range (S95, G12, etc),...
Pros:
- Large screen
- better than expected noise-free results at higher light sensitivity settings
- decent build quality
Cons:
- Touchscreen control takes some getting used to
- and you're paying a slight premium over similar spec models because of it

- Noise handled well up to 800 ISO
