Canon IXUS 310 HS Digital Camera Review

good so far, but more experience needed

We bought this camera for size, ease of use and video. We've only experimented a little, but it seems to take good pictures. The video quality isn't as good as we were hoping for. It may take some practice to make smooth video clips. And we haven't viewed anything yet on a 1080p capable monitor.
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Fast/accurate auto-focus
  • Good Image Quality
  • Good Image Stabilization
  • Good in Low Light
  • Great Zoom
  • Large Clear LCD
  • Nice Body Color
  • Short Lag Time
  • Small / Compact

Review: Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS camera

If the idea of an almost-all-touchscreen camera appeals to you, the Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS ($300) is one of the best point-and-shoot options in that class. But it's becoming clear that touchscreen-operated cameras are a significantly different beast than traditional cameras with similar specs.

  • 3.2-inch touchscreen with good UI
  • Fun shooting modes
  • including 240fps video capture
  • F2.0 lens with aperture priority mode
  • Very good image and video quality
Cons:
  • Touchscreen menus add a few steps
  • Subpar battery life
