Canon IXUS 240 HS

We wouldn't complain if the 240HS had a longer zoom lens or was able to capture HD video at a higher frame rate, but the Canon IXUS 240HS proves that quality can easily overcome quantity.
Pros:
  • Excellent image quality
  • Resistive touchscreen as good as they get
Cons:
  • Low HD video frame rate
  • Interface has a few quirks
  • More zoom would be nice

Did buy the 1100HS but took it back for the 240HS

Picture quality is what I wanted and with 16mp in a compact it's the best for it's size. The other features are standard and exceptable. The wi fi feature...... no one's going to use {a bit of bloatware} The 16mp is the most important feature.
Pros:
  • Easy to use
  • Compact
  • Build quality
  • Screen size
Cons:
  • Battery life

good

takes really nice pictures, lovely looking and very compact. The only problem I have with it is that it takes a few seconds from pressing the button to actually taking the photograph -annoying, especially when you are trying to photograph your kids!

Unique looking point and shoot camera from the house of Canon

There were not many brands apart from Canon that came to my mind when I wanted to purchase an affordable point and shoot camera. The 16.1 megapixel Canon Digital IXUS 240HS advanced point and shoot camera was one of the best options I thought I had.

LIGHTWEIGHT CAMERA

Bought to replace another Canon camera that lens had broken. Not really used yet, apart from to try out. First impressions, smaller in size than my old one, lighter, will easily fit into a handbag, which is a bonus to me. Seems to have similar features to my previous one.
Pros:
  • Great Picture Quality
  • Easy To Use
  • Bright LCD
Cons:
  • Have To Charge Up Battery

Canon Digital Ixus 240 HS: A Great Camera. But Cannon being tight

I brought this camera from jessops for £169.99 a few days ago. it was available in two colours black and sliver so i brought the black one. The box was very detail and ey catching.

Canon IXUS 240 HS review: Canon IXUS 240 HS

We wouldn't complain if the 240HS had a longer zoom lens or was able to capture HD video at a higher frame rate, but the Canon IXUS 240HS proves that quality can easily overcome quantity. Canon was one of the first companies to embrace the era of digital point-and-shoot cameras. Since those first digital compact cameras emerged, the look of the IXUS range has remained essentially unchanged. Like its IXUS siblings and forebears, the 240HS is a slight rectangular box with lightly rounded edges. On the front, there's the usual pleasantly machined metal plate, while on the sides and back there's quality plastic. Oddly, the 240HS is available in only two colours: blue and a very traditional silver.
Pros:
  • Excellent image quality
  • Resistive touchscreen as good as they get.
Cons:
  • Low HD video frame rate
  • Interface has a few quirks
  • More zoom would be nice.
