SLR in compact size....
this cam is really good.... people like me would never go-in for the hassles involved in handling a SLR when things like this are available. be it the HD recording or the pics in different settings....all clicks well with this cam at your disposal.

Excellent allrounder pocket digital camera.
This is quite powerful digital pocket camera. I bought it just because I am heading on an overseas trip soon. I believe the camera will be a valuable trip companion on journey through many countries.

With its 16.1MP backlit CMOS sensor and built-in Wi-Fi capability, the Canon IXUS 240 HS - known as the Canon PowerShot ELPH 320 HS in the US - is just the kind of camera you might see poking out of a shirt pocket on a Côte d'Azur beach.

Canon Ixus 240 HS
The Canon 240 HS may look like a regular pocket snapper, but this Ixus boasts two of 2012's hottest features in the compact camera market: Wi-Fi and a touchscreen.
Pros:
- Good and even sharpness levels in wide-angle shots
- Full HD video
- Large touchscreen
- clear interface
- Good build quality
- Wi-Fi function is practical once configured
Cons:
- Images aren't as sharp at telephoto
- General responsiveness could be better
- Screen: touch-controls aren't all that accurate
- onscreen image lacks fidelity
- Audio quality (muffled sounds
- Wi-Fi set-up is nowhere near as simple as with the average smartphone

Eventually, Canon has taken the IXUS back to its roots with the Canon IXUS 240HS . Over the years, the company's ultra-pocketable digital cameras have become decidedly less friendly towards tight jeans-wearing hipsters. But with the 240 HS, the once expanding girth has been significantly trimmed.
Cons:
- On its downside
- the confusing Wi-Fi function
- the convoluted menu system and the torturous touchscreen menu really made this a disappointing camera to use
- especially considering its price

Canon IXUS 240 HS
Canon was one of the first companies to embrace the era of digital point-and-shoot cameras. Since those first digital compact cameras emerged, the look of the IXUS range has remained essentially unchanged.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- Resistive touchscreen as good as they get
Cons:
- Low HD video frame rate
- Interface has a few quirks
- More zoom would be nice

Canon IXUS 240 HS review: Canon IXUS 240 HS
We wouldn't complain if the 240HS had a longer zoom lens or was able to capture HD video at a higher frame rate, but the Canon IXUS 240HS proves that quality can easily overcome quantity. Canon was one of the first companies to embrace the era of digital point-and-shoot cameras. Since those first digital compact cameras emerged, the look of the IXUS range has remained essentially unchanged. Like its IXUS siblings and forebears, the 240HS is a slight rectangular box with lightly rounded edges. On the front, there's the usual pleasantly machined metal plate, while on the sides and back there's quality plastic. Oddly, the 240HS is available in only two colours: blue and a very traditional silver.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- Resistive touchscreen as good as they get.
Cons:
- Low HD video frame rate
- Interface has a few quirks
- More zoom would be nice.

I brought this camera from jessops for £169.99 a few days ago. it was available in two colours black and sliver so i brought the black one. The box was very detail and ey catching.
