Canon EOS 70D Review: Video Rock Star
Switch the 70D into video mode, however, and all bets are off. While the 60D didn't offer continuous AF for video capture, the 70D does so, and does so with a vengeance. Continuous AF shooting video with the 70D is simply the best DSLR performance I have ever had my hands on, regardless of camera...- Good still image quality
- Good ISO noise performance
- Latest generation processing engine and technology
- Touchscreen monitor offers quick control response
- Exceptional DSLR video performance due to continuous AF
- 72 dpi still image output requires resizing for printing
- Touchscreen monitor collects fingerprints and smudges
- impairing legibility in bright conditions
- Camera seems to lose highlights to a higher degree than the 60D at default settings

- 19-point AF system is excellent

Canon's flagship APS-C camera finally delivers on the video DSLR promise-with a catch.
Since Nikon released the D90 in 2010, the promise of a do-everything, video-capable DSLR for consumers has largely gone unrealized. While practically every DSLR can shoot full HD video these days, none have made capturing everyday clips the accessible, convenient experience that it is on camcorders...
Canon EOS 70D: Review
In many respects, the Canon EOS 70D is an amazing camera. The flurry of 7 fps, with infinite buffer (or almost) and continuous autofocus, it is a strength indisputable, especially when you consider that the scanned files are 20 megapixels.- Excellent image quality
- Excellent AF (also in Live View
- 7 fps burst
- Swivel touch screen
- Good video mode
- Placement of some keys improved
- One SD slot
- No AF-assist lamp
Disappointed
I purchased this a couple of years ago and have had problem after problem with it not working correctly. I have sent it in to be fixed yet the problems continue. I have backup Canon Rebel t1i and continue to use that more often and it works fantastic. I am really disappointed in the 70D.
This camera is better then the 7d!!
I got this camera to replace my t2i and compared its night and day the 70d is fast. I used the wifi to take a picture and every one was how did you do that with your cell phone. they where amazed. I like how fast it keeps focus and stays on a subject.- a lot of new features WiFi / new dual pixel
- so far nothing
Worth the wait!
Just received my camera and I'm very happy so far. The auto-focus in video and live view modes is sharp, quick and silent. 7 FPS is freaking fast! The combination of button control and touchscreen blow away the other cameras I have used.- Build quality and feel
- The features crammed into this camera are never ending
- Easy to navigate menu and buttons
- No built in time-lapse mode
- This is the only feature I would have really liked
- Though it may be a moot point with the WiFi and a few apps
