- Wi-Fi implementation needs help
- Bulky
- but that comes with the territory
This is probably the last gadget review we do this year and what a rocking time we had with this camera. We got our hands on the Canon 70D to run it through our test bench. This is a no-nonsense DSLR from Canon, built to perform in almost any type of light setting.
Camera Review: Canon EOS 70D
The 70D is a solid, midrange camera with the core features one expects from-and needs in-a DSLR. - solid core feature set
- useful Wi-Fi options
- responsive, fully-articulated touchscreen
- Lacks advanced fine-tuning features in areas such as in-camera noise reduction
- image quality is only slightly better than its predecessor (but still good for this price point

Quick review: Canon EOS 70D
Canon's EOS 70D is not just a welcome follow-up to the 60D, it also surpasses its line and could serve as a viable alternative for the much loved 7D. In certain respects, the 70D is a curious animal.- Relatively compact and easy to hold
- Full featured
- excellent image quality
- Highly responsive focusing system
- Lack of full water sealing may deter prosumer users
- Not as ruggedised as the 7D
Canon EOS 70D
The 20.2 megapixel sensor uses a Dual Pixel CMOS AF design in which every single pixel is split into two separately readable photodiodes, facing left and right. So in principle, each pixel is capable of phase-detection autofocus in Live View and Movie mode.- Innovative autofocus system
- Articulated touch-screen LCD
- Built-in Wi-Fi
- Quite heavy

- Impressive image quality
- Super continuous AF for movies
- Built-in Wi-Fi
- 19-AF pounts
- Responsive touchscreen
- Single SD card slot
- No built-in GPS
- Unable to record videos when Wi-Fi is on
- Creative filters & HDR JPEG only

Canon EOS 70D DSLR Review
The Canon EOS 70D is a 20MP APS-C-sized sensor camera that has a massive body with a large grip on its right-hand side that makes for very comfortable handling. It has a classic SLR design with an optical viewfinder with numerous function buttons, and a fully articulated large, touch-sensitive LCD...
Canon 70D Review
Want one? BUY ONE ! See Compared above for all the plusses and minuses. The 70D is the least expensive full-performance Canon there is. Paying more for a camera isn't going to get you anything more, unless you really want a larger camera or auto LCD backlight control or all three "C" preset settings...
