Canon EOS 5D mark IV review
If there's one thing advanced enthusiasts and pro photographers are going to lust after this year, the 5D Mark IV is it. And with good reason: It's not necessarily an all-singing, all-dancing model, but what it does, it does extremely well.
Pros:
- Genuine improvements like touchscreen control
- Dual pixel RAW is incredible (when it works
- Fantastic video and still photo quality
Cons:
- New features mean a higher debut price
- Some bugs to iron out in dual pixel RAW

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV review: The 30-megapixel monster
Canon has stepped things up a gear in recent years by leading with higher-resolution DSLR cameras. It had long been said that the 24-megapixel mark would be the company's limit until lenses could make the best of the capture resolution - a concept that was not just slightly but entirely demolished...
Pros:
- Autofocus system rarely bettered in viewfinder or screen-based use
- Image quality is solid
- Clever Dual Pixel RAW re-focus
- Touchscreen works well
Cons:
- No vari-angle LCD screen
- No light-up buttons
- The 30MP sensor might be too high-res for some
- 4K video has limited file types
- Expensive

Amazing Machine and tool.
This is a MACHINE. The touchscreen is amazing with all the controls there. The image quality is superb. High ISO is great. ISO 12,800 and even 16,000 totally usable. I have hardly delved into the touchscreen use but a friend did and he loves loves loves it.
Pros:
- Great image
- touch screen rocks
- Price reasonable for what you are getting
Cons:
- support software is lagging behind because it is so new
- To Canon I suggest rather than make software reverse engineer just give them the specs up front so they can launch with the product
- It will make your launch better. The battery grip for 2 batteries is way too expensive.

I love it!
Great camera overall, I have a 5DM3 and the controls are quite similar so no learning curve to speak of. I really appreciate being able to zoom in on the touch screen and especially love the wifi feature which is very useful where I'm official photographer at dog shows, and also for portrait...

Canon 5d Mark iv
"Well I've had this camera 4 months now, and is just awesome. The 24-70 f4.0 lens Picture quality is amazingly sharp. The bottom line is that I prefer this lens combination over the 24-105. Don't get me wrong both lines are great, but the 24-70 has macro feature which is very sharp.

Canon 5D Mark IV
The Canon 5D Mark IV offers a ton of new features and performance upgrades, but keeps things modest and familiar with its similar yet refined design. The fourth iteration of Canon's popular 5D series gains a new, higher-res sensor, a faster processor, a full touchscreen interface, built-in wireless...
Pros:
- Superb image quality from RAW files
- Improved dynamic range
- Excellent high ISO performance
- Fast 7fps burst rate with unlimited JPEG buffer
- High-quality cinema 4K video
- Built-in Wi-Fi
- Dual Pixel CMOS AF is very good, Very good image quality, excellent from RAWÂ files, Excellent high ISO...
Cons:
- JPEG files look soft at default settings
- 1/200s flash sync
- 4K video codec is cumbersome
- 29:59 continuous video recording limit, Default JPEGs are a bit soft compared to competitors, Dual memory card slots use different formats, Top flash speed of 1/200s, Low-light AF a bit disappointing with...

Incredible kit
I debated for years getting a 5D series Canon, but I finally took the plunge with the Mark IV. And I wish I had done it earlier. True to form Canon don't do really well with instructions or guides, but there are plenty of valuable online resources.

Major changes that aren't spoken about much...
I'll start off by mentioning the Focus System. Although it has 61 focus points, 41 being cross type, like the 5D Mark iii, it is not the same focus system merely spread out more and rated at lower light levels. It's a far more intelligent system, the same one that's in the 1DX Mark ii.
