I purchased this camera about 3 weeks ago and it is great to carry around when I am not using my Canon 60D. Light weight, small size and you can use your Canon lenses. I am p`d off because I ordered it through Henry`s on-line, paid $799.95 and now Henry`s has it on sale for $50.00 less!

Canon EOS 100D DSLR Review

The Canon EOS 100D is the smallest DSLR available with an optical viewfinder, and appears to be Canons answer to DSLR-style mirrorless cameras, being roughly the same size as the Micro Four Thirds Panasonic Lumix G6 , as well as roughly the same price, although the G6 features a swivelling touch...

Canon EOS 100D review

Canon EOS 100D review

The compact proportions of the 18 megapixel Canon EOS 100D and its relatively lightweight feel make it an ideal holiday camera, for when you want that DSLR quality, while the smaller size also makes it less intimidating for human subjects, resulting in shots that feel less 'forced'.
Pros:
  • Compact body
  • Lightweight
  • Good image quality
Cons:
  • No tilting LCD
  • Indoors shots can be soft
  • Not much cheaper than 700D

Canon EOS 100D

The Canon EOS 100D offers a satisfying experience for new photographers or those who are looking for a very compact entry into the world of SLRs. However, it might not be small enough to lure potential buyers away from a similarly priced mirrorless ILC with more features.
Pros:
  • Extremely compact and lightweight
  • Excellent touchscreen
  • Very good image quality
Cons:
  • Some users might find the design a little cramped
  • No built-in Wi-Fi
  • Short battery life compared to other SLRs

I was hesitant at first to spend the money that I spent on this camera, but I told myself that my daughter is only 2 once and I can't justify NOT spending the money. I have already captured so many precious moments that other cameras just can't capture.
Pros:
  • light-weight in comparison to other DSLR cameras
Cons:
  • the video quality could be better
